The Flash is on the job - pondering a vacation from said job.

He's feeling a bit burned out lately, but he has no idea what he'd do if he took time off.

He's heard a few reports about some funky orb going around, so he's trying to find it and corral it for study.

He comes across it sooner than he expected, and he's not quite ready for what it's going to show him...

The compliments are really eerie.

The fighting skill is farther along than he thought, if he can take her like this...

Except that hit causes a small bit of bile to spit out of his teeth, and he rolls back, putting distance between them and supporting himself on one knee.

"Potential... ?"

"You will never be one of the best pure practitioners but your speed makes up for much."

She's in some pain, blood dripping from her fingers.

"So I've been told. Backhanded compliments won't get you past me to kill this man."

He's fighting the glaze in his eyes.

A soft chuckle from Shiva at that.

"Are you planning to watch him forever?"

Pause.

"Or are you willing to do what no other will?"

"I'm the Flash. I've got all the time in the world. Is he that important to you?"

"Very little is important to me."

Shiva leans back on her heels, "He is not a good man."

"You are not a good woman. That doesn't give anyone the right to kill you."

Shiva smiles, a very faint turning up of the corners of her mouth, "I find it amusing that the few who can are the ones who won't."

She also finds it depressing but the two are not so very far apart in Shiva's world.

His eyes narrow.

"You've got a death wish, don't you?"

"If I simply wished to die, I can think of many ways to accomplish it." Pulling a handkerchief from her pocket she winds it around her fingers.

He shakes his head.

"What HAPPENED to you, to make you like this?"

"That is a long story."

His lips purse.

"I can't imagine you ever speaking enough to tell it."

"Ask Canary."

That seems to amuse her more than anything else so far.

"Maybe I will. But right now, the only thing you're doing is turning around and heading to Hoboken. This place is off limits."

With that, Shiva turns and starts to walk away.
