Authorities have been notified where to pick up the unconscious Royal Flush Gang, all alive - though Ace has been mostly disassembled, since he couldn't sedate him the way he did most of the gang.
As soon as the call is made, still flush with victory in the rematch, and his first real solo fight against a superhuman level threat, Travis picks something else up on his ring. Something odd from Earth, but extending out into deep space. Trying to analyze it just gets hints of magic - which he has more idea about than most lanterns, but is still far from expert.
Throwing caution to the wind, he launches himself after the faint trail, leaving Earth orbit within seconds, passing the moon where he fought the Manhunters, and then well beyond, following the hints of a trail.
Had he been a little more hesitant, he might have picked up on the news from Cuba... but trying to catch the hint of a trail before he loses it, he misses the situation concerning Kobra, Light, and the Outsiders entirely, single-mindedly following a thread he somehow feels is important in its own right, but not quite knowing why.

Date: 2007-10-27 01:16 am (UTC)The ring confirms that he's still alive, but only barely. He's only conscious instead of being put into a healing coma because he instructed the ring to help him stay conscious and not let him doze off.
A scan reveals, not so much no sign of Lobo... but a lot of signs of him, all over the place. Of course, it also tells the Lantern that based on GL past encounters with the Main Man, he won't stay down forever.
Taking his time about it, Travis does what he can to leave signs in the cratered side of the moon that he died in the explosion, and shifts his readings about to make him harder to find...
Then he notices the bike...what's left. He curses himself, but summons the will to start putting it back together. He leaves it in a crater, together, but with all the fuel leaked out, the damage only superficial looking - ruptured fuel cells, but placing it where it looks like it somehow survived the fight unscathed. Even he's not sure why, aside from knowing just how the biker gangers where he grew up felt about their bikes... for some, it was all they really had that separated them from the rest of the trash.
That done, and realizing that in doing so, it took attention away from fixing things like, say, his kidneys, Travis sets the ring's course towards Earth, and just drifts for a while through a lot of empty space.
