But not unnoticed. The bottle was noticed by a few of Aquaman's dolphin friends, who were in the area in case there was an opportunity to help. After a quick back and forth of conversation, the bottle was rushed on its way to the shore - at first via dolphin and then passed along different sea creatures to a nearby hero.

"Jeez, Ollie, you don't have to shout, I'm on the line already. What've you got for me?"

Ted rubs his ear gingerly.

"Oh, my.. "

Ted's eyes widen as he sees the shots.

"This isn't Liza Minnelli. Those aren't sequins, they're fish scales! This mermaid is contorting herself in all these interesting positions, and this fellow in the background.. some kind of full-body sign language or code."

He pulls up the secure Justice League network, posting the pictures on a heroes-only bulletin board - with the message :

"Can anyone make heads or tails of these?"

Metamorpho watched as a new thread pinged up on the bulletin board, and as the images shot up in front of him, he was forced to drop his sub. "Holy... These people are contorting themselves into an atomic symbol!"

With a pen and paper, Rex traces the shape onto a piece of paper, and shakes his head in disbelief. "One, the photographer of this set piece is a genius. Two, we need to get in touch with any Opal City heroes, because I believe Blackbeard's ancient treasure when found needs to be securely placed within a hot cell. It's irradiated like crazy!" He types his findings up on the message board for all to see, with the closing paragraph. "We have a modern day Blackbeard, stealing nuclear metals rather than gold! And he's a Communist!"

"Hey!" Superman shouts from the streets of Opal City, punching a thug in the face. "Where the heck is Jimmy Olsen, jerk! I'm starting to get..." This is when his nerd alert goes off.

"...Great Scott!" Superman's eyes narrow as he reads the message board through his own Super Watch! "Redbeard the People's Pirate is alive...and he must have Jimmy!"

It took Perry White to run the story, as Jimmy did a surprising amount of uncredited work around the Daily Planet. Eventually he got his fingers on the typewriter though, and the headline was released:

PINKIE PIRATE PLUTONIUM PLUNDER!!!

Perry was very pleased.
