Conrad Laughlin was a man on a mission. More than anyone besides his specialists knew of. The Justice League's Watchtower satellite required minute-by-minute updates and maintenance. This is not something normally handled by its members, so tech support is always moving through.

The background check is well and truly exhausting. One day's work requires a month of informational requests, as well as interviews with family, and what appeared to be a "spirit sniffing" from a rhyming gargoyle. That was the strangest part of the entire day so far. The fact Laughlin's packed lunch now bore the faint smell of brimstone was just an added bonus.

He wasn't able to bring any of his own tools as everything necessary would be provided by the League staff, and a schematic as to what he'd be facing was completely out of the question. Conrad was working blind here, but when your client bases itself on universal security, its a moot point.

Turning to the worker next to him in a rather bright orange (with garish blonde work-boots), he spoke quickly. "If the pay for this wasn't ridiculous, I'd almost do it for the sights. Where are you out of?"

Adam, in front of the door of the room Kip is in, pulls out his Ray Gun, just in case. Adam then opens the door, and says "Alright boss man, cavalry has arrived. So where do we need to get you to stop this attack?"

"Sir, I'm happy to say that Blue Beetle's taken over primary system defenses of the Watchtower. All I'm asking you to do is to get me and my cat somewhere safe. Right now, sir, I'd say I'm missing my sight more than I have since the first time I met Princess Diana."

Adam chuckled trying to think of where to take Kip that was "safe", so he joked. "You know I had this nightmare once, that I had lost my sight in a Zeta Beam accident. The nightmare part though, was that I was stranded somewhere with Starfire. Thats just rough bud." Adam gave himself a smirk, and thought, okay so that is a joke I can never let my wife hear.

Adam then realized he should probably get Kip to Blue Beetle, the Monitor Room was probably the safest place in the watchtower, right now. "Okay, then we will get you to Ted in the Monitor Room. I think that is probably the safest place. Plus I want to make sure Ted stays in control of it." With that Adam reached out his arm, and solid light started wrapping around it, he formed what looked like a child's space ship ride that costs a quarter at any grocery store, only it was slightly bigger and was attached to Adams arm instead of a base. "Here Kip, get in. There should be enough room for you and your buddy, we need to get moving."

The very large orange tabby meows at Adam before heading into the little magical conveyance on his own. Kip follows more slowly, feeling for the edges, before he settles a bit. "I owe you, sir. Thanks." Trusting soul, this fellow.

After making sure Kip is in safely, Adam smiles at him and says, "anytime buddy. Oh and you may want to hold on tight, cause just so you know you are sitting in a rocket ship, and I didn't make it look like that for kicks."

After walking out the door, Adam turns on his jet pack and positions himself right above the construct he made. Then he held out both of his hands and used solid light beams to attach himself to the ship. Then turning up his jet pack, They start cruising along at a steady pace. The Adam says, "okay here it comes." Then suddenly the rockets on the very toy like ship show that they work all to well, as the three of them zoom to the Monitor Room with incredible speed.

Kip is a trifle green at the end of the trip. The cat looks unshaken, as cats are wont to look. "You'd think with all the space stuff I'd be used to leaving my stomach behind," the blind man says with as much cheer as he can muster. "Thanks again, sir. Uh...can you steer me somewhere safe to sit? I'm completely lost now, you know?"

Adam takes Kips arm guiding him over to bench. Adam starts getting antsy ask he helps Kip sit down thinking to himself how important the JLA Watchtower is. Adam also has a bad feeling in his gut, that tell him he needs to get this incursion under control.

When Kip has a sat down safely, he address both him and Blue Beetle in the room. "Guys it is time to end this, I need to know everything you know about this attack. We need to come up with a plan."
