Many months ago, a chaos goddess warned Dr. Fate of an impending danger. The goddess is gone now, disappeared into the ether without a trace, and in the time since, he has searched tirelessly for the place she bade him to visit -- the Inn at the End of the Worlds.
His life has transformed on this quest -- his marriage fallen by the wayside, his relationship with his son almost beginning. New friends and allies, new enemies.
All, for some reason, bringing him here he does not know why.
It's not what he expected.
From the outside, it resembles a simple, Medeival inn in a wooded glade. From the inside, it's much the same, only bigger. A number of fantastic folk are arrayed at tables. A Hindu goddess of death is behind the bar. He nods respectfully at her, and takes up a seat. The waitress is human, from his world. He can tell by looking at her. He politely orders an ail, and settles down to think, staring out at a sky filled with unfamiliar stars through a simple glass window.
