hawk-shay.livejournal.comAlone for a bit while Ted's off somewhere else - probably making sure the Question hasn't broken all his windows, she thinks - Shay is doing what she can to not think too much about things.
Of course, trying not to think about things only makes it worse. Ten minutes ago, she gave up pretending to read (she's still a little painkiller-fuzzy, anyway, which makes it hard to concentrate on the printed words in front of her) and is just sort of studying her hands now, looking troubled.
She's given up on the hope that maybe this is all just some very long, very bad dream, but she still finds herself wishing she could just wake up and remember whatever it is she's forgotten and make things better somehow. Board games with Ted are a cute distraction, but the feeling that she's completely useless and things are falling apart just won't leave her alone.
