THE LAUGH'S ON US - It appears that despite our zero-star review of The World According To The Joker, the public remains vitally interested in the Clown Prince of Crime's literary magnum opus. The tell-all memoir/philosophical guide/semi-religious tract remains in our eyes a dreadful mangling of the English language, but that has not prevented it from flying off bookshelves at a clip more rapid than anything bar Dan Brown and John Grisham teaming up to write a novel about lawyers learning the truth about the secret history of Jesus. With the first printing sold out in less than a week and the second and third printings already presold and shipping, Wente House has contracted for an additional three printings in advance; the Joker can legally receive no royalties for the work due to reservations placed on legal income by various judges which redirect his funds to victim support groups. By any account, The World According To The Joker is the publishing coup of the decade thus far...

Another morning after

It is after Christmas, which was a lovely morning all around, and not quite New Year's which is an anniversary of sorts. She really should pick just one but right now, she's a little busy. Selina is tucked under the covers, head firmly on the pillows, eyes closed. Her sleep is not entirely peaceful, apparently haunted by dreams - though it is nothing so bad so as to startle her from sleep. One of the factors that may be contributing to her less than peacful sleep is that she's cold.

Laying out on the roof for the conversation with Nightwing had been cold. And she had gotten warm, helping take down the drug gang but maybe the cold had seeped into her bones and is now seeping out. Maybe she is feeling the lack of the cats, who woould be curling up with her and normally making her far, far too warm. It is hard to tell why she is still cold but she is, the sheets pulled tightly around her, not yet tangled but making an effort in that direction.
