There's been any number of opportunities. Detectives come in and out of the office frequently. She could have picked up the phone and dialed any one of a dozen numbers. She could have stopped in on her lunch break. There are enough people who recognize her face at the Major Crimes Unit that the wait wouldn't have been long. They would have seen her before anybody else off the streets. It's one of the many advantages of working within the system.

Instead she's spoken to no one about it, discussed none of the details. She may very well be his secretary but some things just aren't her business. This is surely one of them. Or is it? It was clear from his reaction, he didn't want her involved. On the rare occasion, she's inclined to acquiesce to his wishes. In this case, she's not so sure she can.

Three days later on the drive home, she's still contemplating the decision. If there is even the slightest chance his life is in danger, it is her business. Whatever consequences that come down the road be damned. If he hasn't reported the threat by COB tomorrow, she'll do it on his behalf, whether he likes it or not. She loathes the thought of three days turning into four.

As she maneuvers the afternoon traffic, she's unaware she has a tail several cars back.
