It's been a busy twenty four hours.

First, he comes to an agreement with his father. 

And then, he meets his mother for the first time.  He should have
expected it to go poorly.  At the least, he has a strand of her hair. 
That should be enough to exclude her from the ritual.  He knows what it
means to be a child of the Demon's Head and finds that he can no longer hate
her. Instead, he waits for the Batman to make his appearance.
