The office is crowded with NYPD personnel, frantic patients, a hysterical receptionist, and building security.

"Hey, we got JSA on the scene!" shouts a detective to his fellow officers. "What the hell happened here to make it a cape case?"

There's a warm, yellow glow where Fate and Detective Chimp appeared. Fate takes a moment to clear their presence with the police.

"...thank you for your assistance, officers. My coleauges will be with us, shortly."

The detective rubs the back of his head. "Yeah. Uh, mind throwing us a bone here? What's going on? Is this a homicide-kidnapping? We lookin' at a hostage situation?"

Fate glances around the office, and to Detective Chimp, who is undoubtedly searching for clues.

"I am in search of a coleauge, a young woman who was here -- the Titan Nighstar -- as part of a larger case. I fear she is in great danger."

His face turns toward the doctor's office, and he seems to be stiffen as he looks at it.

"I am hesitant to speak without evidence, but I fear this doctor was involved in something ... dangerous."

"Aaah, great." The detective looks disgusted. "One a-these, huh? Okay. I'll let my captain know."

"I phoned ahead, officer," says Terrific, entering the room. "You should find instructions for full cooperation waiting for you."

A number of officers breathe a sigh of relief when Terrific appears -- they don't really know Nightwing, and Fate's creepy, but Terrific made an effort to ingratiate himself with the local authorities when he joined the JSA, and is big contributor to the Benevolent Fund. He knows a lot of them by name.

"We're going to need to search through the office, and interview witnesses."

Again, so it seems.

The receptionist looks angry. "I already told that other guy--"

"Apologies, ma'am," he says, his voice low and soothing. "I'm afraid the situation really is that serious. Please. Repeat to me what you told the ... other man."

His mind races. Who'd be investigating and that much in a rush to ... "Oh. That would be Nightwing, I bet," he thinks.

Natalie folds her arms. "That girl--Nightstar--she came in, looking like a tourist, in one of those 'I heart NYC' sweatshirts and jeans, and sunglasses. She started talking about how she had to see the doctor, she had to see the doctor, and I told her he wasn't available. He was having a break before seeing patients. But Dr. Rogere must've heard me through the intercom or something 'cause he let her in, said he'd give her 5 minutes. I don't know what happened then--I got a call, and besides, his office's soundproof, and then that other guy showed up and broke down the door--"

So. What brought Nightar here?

"Do you have a security camera we can review?"

"For out here? Yeah. Not in his office--patient confidentiality--"

"May I please see the video for out here," he says. It's not really a question, but he's being polite. "It should help us identify the assailant."

"Okay." The receptionist sits back at her desk and starts clicking away on her keyboard. "It's not on tape," she adds, apparently taking comfort in the distraction of a relatively routine task. "It's digital. But I'll burn it on a DVD for you." A few minutes later, she hands Mr. Terrific a jewel case. "You need to watch it now? You can use my computer."

"Not neccesary," he says, smiling.

He slips the disc into a device hidden inside his jacket, and scans the tape on the monitor in his mask.

"That face is familiar," says Terrific, idly. I think I've seen a file..."

He sends a text message to Oracle, along with the video clip.

RE: ROGERE

MESSAGE: CLIP OF ROGERE CRIME SCENE. DO YOU RECOGNIZE THIS MAN? ID CONFIRMATION NEEDED.

He knows the answer already.
