Francis Kane has never had an easy time of it. Confined to the Keystone Home for the Criminally Insane, she's spent the last few years making a slow recovery. The collar on her inhibits her abilities with magnetic fields, and (along with it) the mania that caused her to become a criminal and a murderess.

There are a lot of anti-psychotic drugs in her system, but she's worked her way up to having enough "good girl points" to read the Bible in the chapel by herself.
