Celebration

Most don't know the significance of the day - and of the few that do, fewer still see it as cause for celebration.

Shiva Wusan's birthday.

Richard Dragon's a little different than most people in that regard. There's an ornately carved wooden case tucked under his arm as he knocks on the door of the apartment that she sometimes occupies.

At that Shiva steps back from him.

At that, she does the only thing she can think to do.

She punches him.

In the ribs. It will leave a bruise but little else.

Well, her approach is only slightly less subtle than his was - Dragon takes the punch as a deserved consequence, with a grunt.

"Stop it. Just for a minute, don't re-direct this into anger. I'm not trying to change you, and I wouldn't want to. I just want to help you. So tell me how I can do that."

There is a frustration there she has no idea what to say.

"Help me what? I have never been good with words. Or relationships."

"You don't need to be."

Dragon sighs. "I'd like to see you be more consistently content. More at peace. And I think the bonds you're forging with Vic and Canary are both excellent steps.. I just.. "

His fist clenches, and then relaxes. "Neron wants you. And I think it's my fault he has a chance to get you."
