He's too unbalanced to properly dodge. Both get him in the same leg and he tumbles sideways with the impact, and then down in quite a ridiculous fashion as the bombs go off.
The armor's kept him pretty protected but now he's buried under his own crude shield. He makes the attempt to unbury himself and get back to his feet.
