“Because we’re only going to get one shot at this, and if it’s to work, we have to do it right.” Caleb turns to his best friend. “An extremely capable telepath is incarcerated inside. If he absconds, there’ll be nothing to stop him from telepathically forcing his will on anyone, anywhere, at any time.” Given his personal experiences, Caleb is rather personally invested in not allowing anyone to subvert another’s free will. If Caleb had it’s way, doing so would constitute a crime against humanity.
He sighs for a moment, forcing himself to discontinue that line of though and re-focus on the task at hand. “Were we to even be seen entering the prison by someone who wasn’t shielded from his telepathic probes, he’d be aware of our presence. Discretion, in this instance, is the better part of valor.”
With a coy smile Caleb motions for Trevor to follow him as he begins walking down the hallway, pistol in hand. “I used to train in these tunnels back when I was a DEO Swat agent. In, uh …. in the event that they government needed to, well, pull another Attica, this is how we’d have breached the compound unseen.”
