The ring may have shut down the light, but it hasn't shut down it's sensors. What it's telling Sue is that the star next to her is going to collapse and turn into a white dwarf, taking out everything within...well, she doesn't get the translation, but it's gonna be huge and kill everything here. She throws up some shielding Light is draining her, but she wills more and more of herself into her friend's safety. She will give until there's nothing and then go into debt.
