Ray Palmer's been freed, but the Justice League and their allies are now faced with both a dying and homicidal Enchantress, and a Chronos from somewhere further in the future that seems Hell bent on trapping everyone where they are in order to prevent some future event -- training his first sneak attack on the Cosmic Treadmill that helped bring them to this dimension between time.

"The Witch Queen will be destroyed before she rises ... Ray Palmer will never live to lead the Justice Battalion."

In a swift succession he trains his ray on Firestorm and Joto.

"The future begins here."

"We're going to need Ronnie and Joto sooon," says Ray. His face is ashen, drained. It's obvious now he's drawing on his last reserves of willpower to pull this off.

"Both Firestorm and Joto are energy manipulators ... they can manipulate particles on a subatomic level." He gulps, and glances at the mystic conflagaration.

"The laws of physics are different here, but a lot of the same principles apply."

He begins tinkering with Chronos' time equipment.

"Chronos didn't revert to his point of origin upon being knocked out. That means he wanted to stay here. At best he's an idiot. At worst ..."

His face hardens. "I'm not sure what a chronal suicide bombing would do, but whatever he thinks he's protecting in the future seems to be worth an awful lot to him."

"We're between time and space here," says Ryan, evidently catching on to something. "You're worried about a breach in time."

Ray nods.

"This is what the Atom does Ryan. We solve problems. We're the ones that make the science work when it shouldn't ... when it absolutely has to. When even the smallest thing matters."

He glances at the mystic showdown, then back at Ronnie and Wally.

"You boys get ready to act on my say-so. Containing Jean doesn't mean we're out of the woods ... we still may have to contain a chronal singularity before it infects our timeline."

Flash listens to that, then turns to Ronnie.

"Chronal singularities are jerks."

Firestorm grins. "Well, we should teach this one a lesson."

"Then bust out the nuclear paddle. It's time for a spanking."

No one's gonna die. No one's gonna die. No one's gonna die.
