Ray Palmer's been freed, but the Justice League and their allies are now faced with both a dying and homicidal Enchantress, and a Chronos from somewhere further in the future that seems Hell bent on trapping everyone where they are in order to prevent some future event -- training his first sneak attack on the Cosmic Treadmill that helped bring them to this dimension between time.

"The Witch Queen will be destroyed before she rises ... Ray Palmer will never live to lead the Justice Battalion."

In a swift succession he trains his ray on Firestorm and Joto.

"The future begins here."

"Good to see you guys,' Says Ray, sighing with releif but not taking his eyes off Firestorm and Joto's work. "Hal, do me a favor and help the boys dissipate this chronal energy before it erases our timeline. J'onn, patching them into my and Ryan's knowledge of physics might help."

He looks tired ... and still not particularly happy. There's an horendous weight on him. But he also looks resolved ... like he's figured a few things out, and knows how the story ends.

Jean lies off to the side, bound by Faust and The Stranger's magic. As the energy cascades around her, the Enchantress persona seems to have faded for a bit, replaced by Jean Loring ... mad, muttering gibberish under her breath at the heroes.

Faust holds the knife again in his hands and stares at the madwoman. None of this serves his immediate purposes. But for the moment, he's playing it Palmer's way.

"Reality's getting thin here, doc. Thinner than it was."

Hal doesn't need to be asked twice. He pours the ring's energies into dissipating the chronal energies.

J'onn links the minds of the gathered heroes, allowing them access to each other's thoughts.

"Excellent," says Ray. He doesn't smile ... mostly, it looks like he's having trouble sranding at all.

Hotspot's heat creation, Firestorm's matter manipulation, Green Lantern's light.

He can visualize what's happening at the particle level, see the matrix they're creating.

The sky is swirling with energy now, as the chronotons dissipate.

And briefly, images appear in the sky now ... tableaus from different places, different times.

In the far future, a woman with the wings of a bird takes to the sky above a futuristic city. In the recent past, a cowboy with a disfigured is in a shoot out against an army whose faces remain in shadows.

"Almost there," says Ray. "Keep the pressure on."
