Arisia is monitoring a lot of things with her ring right now but most of it is passive. She's keeping the security cameras occupied and making sure that once the patients are disconnected from the machines, it doesn't alert anyone who isn't already alerted.

The activity does catch her attention but at the moment, it isn't what she's looking for.

A door opens, and a man peeks out, ducking back in again quickly as he sees the wreckage.

From:

Huh.

Well, she stays where she's at, instructing her ring to build a model to scale in front of her. If she's going to start to track people, she might as well do it well.

The above-ground level is fairly straightforward: a number of offices and conference rooms, utility closets and kitchenettes. Exactly what one would expect to see in an office complex. Perhaps a little more security than the average office building, but all strictly state-of-the-Earth-art equipment, nothing to suggest alien technology.

The 3 levels below ground are laid out in typical hospital unit fashion, with both elevators and stairways connecting each level. No teleportation units. No matter transmitters. A dozen patients per level. Fourteen armed personnel in the entire complex.

But there are also two dozen unarmed personnel.

Arisia starts to put in sight lines and pinpoints all of the people in it. Right now, it is mostly just so she can tell any of the people who are engaged when there might be people sneaking up on them. It is a lot of things to monitor all at once but they're all generally low level.

A dozen people are now clustered in the rooms along the south side, next to the windows facing the parking lot. The door opens again, and a megaphone slides through the narrow gap.

"Attention. The police have been summoned. Leave now and we may decline to press charges."

Arisia's eyes narrow at that. She's starting to stretch what she can and can't do without dropping something - or boosting her mental capacity with the ring. As much as she'd like to start to get civilians out but Mid-Nite said no. So, instead, she taps into the communications around the area, to see if anyone is actually coming, or better yet if anyone has been called. An ear piece settles on her ear and she listens to the traffic on the channels.

She detects nothing that indicates that any law enforcement has been summoned.

Reaching out, to touch Zinda and Mid-Nite, Arisia speaks in their ears, "I'll let you know if they actually make contact with the authorities. So far they haven't."

"Copy that," comes the response, without much in the way of banter. She's focused now on keeping the wolves at bay.

From:

"The police will be here in 5 minutes," continues the voice of a man who is hoping 2 pair will be enough. "Your images have been captured on our security cameras...."

"One shot is all she needs to take out the offending speaker. "Should've told me we were gettin' our photos taken. I didn't even get a chance to smile."

The broken equipment falls to the pavement with a loud clang and the door slams shut. A few agitated voices can be heard from the other side.

From:

A little target practice never hurts. "The next thing I see comin' outta that door better be a white flag!"

From:

More agitated muffled voices, then some less identifiable noises occupy the minutes before the door slowly creaks open again. A large white glossy flag pokes out, looking too stiff to be fabric. On second look, Zinda can tell that the "white flag" is the reverse of a medium-sized poster, attached to an umbrella.

As the flag dips, she can see that the front of the poster features a soaring eagle.

Determination allows mere mortals to soar to unimaginable, new heights.

But a Blackhawk flies higher.

A moment of memory, gone as quickly as it returned.

"File out here so I can see what y'all are doing."
