The Batman can do many things. Easily counteract the mind-control apparati that Jervis Tetch can make so easily. See through a well-organized plan to capture all those involved. Beat up pathetic crooks and turn them over to the cops.
He always leaves something out, though. Perhaps the one reminder that he is, in fact, a human. Just a man in a suit.
It's another suit coming today. A lawyer, this time. Or maybe a contingency plan.
Tetch sent his "business card" to every lawyer in that building, after all. Could the Batman really have got them all?
The commotion down the hall quiets as the lawyer approaches Tetch's cell with guards in tow. It's strange, hearing all the madmen and lunatics cease their prattle. Even Harley's insufferable voice becomes a dull murmur.
The door to his room opens, and there stands Mr. Watson. The guards, too, having fallen victim to his sway, make no move of protest as Tetch exits the padded room.
As Tetch and the lawyer move towards the main exit, one sound reverberates down the hall, spoken by each person they encounter.
"Your hat, sir," they mumble.
'Twas brillig in the Asylum. And Tetch himself is outgrabe.
