A glimmer of silver...

Having to get used to your own body isn't something that most people ever have to do. Luckily for Selina, it doesn't seem to be taking her very long at all. Still, she hasn't ventured out onto the rooftops yet. Not further than her own roof, at least.

Wouldn't want to go and do something really embarassing.

Looking out over the city, a glimpse of something silver catches her eye as it moves through the night. Soft notes reach her ears as she turn to look, one of the facets drawing her eyes to it.

Whatever this is, she would like to keep it.

"I'm not letting you push me away. I'm not going to let you hide and die alone." There is a hitch in her voice toward the end.

Stony are his features. A war rages inside. What husband wouldn't give his own life for that of his wife's? What husband wouldn't do everything in his power to spare her pain?

He must push her like he's never pushed her before. "Go," he orders.

The anger has settled into a knot in her chest.

There have been few women in his lifetime that have been able to face his ire. Selina stands chief among them.

"Tell me you would have done differently if our positions had been reversed."

"Our positions /are/ reversed."

Her lips flatten, unamused.

His resolve crumbles.

"I would do it again," he whispers.

"Damn it, Bruce."

Selina slides her arms around him, "How long?"

"I don't know yet."

The truth is no one knows outside of his wife and the devil who brokered the deal.

Turning her face, she kisses his cheek softly.

"We have a lot to decide." Her hand slides down to take his in her's and starts leading him back to the house.

"But we can start tomorrow." She's trying not to tremble, trying to be strong.

He squeezes her hand. There is strength in his grip, strength that he willingly lends.

Together they return to the Manor. To the warmth of a marriage forged over the length of a decade.

No. Bruce Wayne won't die alone.
