Somewhere, "Arrow" business got shuffled to the bottom of the deck.

He's got the TV on and the Simpsons are blaring. It's not his favorite episode - that would be the one with Krusty getting framed by Sideshow Bob or the Treehouse of Horror collection. Still KSTR breaks this one out for the week before December 25 due to its Christmas content.

Yes, Lisa. You can celebrate Christmas as a Buddhist. And Mr. Hawke will be joining you.

And Connor's taking the same route, fixing up some of the lights that slipped off the tree, making sure there's some apple cider...Oh, and a vegetarian version of the chili.

It wouldn't be Clan Arrow without it.

"Every day is better then the next. Lian brought her grades up to 'B's', Roy's...amazing. I mean last night he even made cornbread because he felt like it."

Connor laughs. "Really? Lian keeping out of trouble and Roy keeping something other than beer and chips in the fridge? You really are a miracle worker."

There's definitely a "hey, he's my brother. I can flip him shit" tone in Connor's voice.

"Hey!" Just because it's a joke doesn't mean she doesn't feel the need to defend her husband. "He's always been better than that. It's just now there' more time and freedom to work on that part of his life."

She can almost hear the nod. "Or feeling like he has to be the playboy and play the role. I only got to know him after you were...um...detained by Hades. Did you know he made me drink my first beer and watch strippers? He said I was being a self-righteous ass, and he was right. Well, still is right. I am a self-righteous ass at times."

"He looks at women because they look back, even in those clubs. People see heroes differently and to deal with that is a survival skill. don't worry. It took me a long time to know that. I'll save you the years of banging your head against a wall."

Holidays with a family are a completely different thing. Roy wasn't always the best with eating right, or cooking, so it usually meant take-out. There was a lot of being clueless when it came to buying Lian presents.

Now? Holidays are a crazy blur. There's the cooking, the present-buying, opening presents, visiting this person, that person, and then that group of people over there. Oy. Lian's had cookies and candies out the wazoo today, likely. Now it's time to unleash that on Connor.

"Oh, Santa! I've been extra good this year!" Roy calls out girlishly as he grabs his brother for a hug and a head-noogie.

"Ooof!" Connor has to laugh. Breaking apart, he pats his brother on the shoulder.

"Heh. I'll bet you have! Come on in! Presents for you and Lian under the tree and something to bring home for Donna."

"Donna has exactly what she wants for the holidays..." she remarks, pulling in gifs from outside. That "something," would be her husband under mistletoe and to not feel like an awkward teenager in this house.

Holidays are awesome because they mean mistletoe which means Roy's been getting a lot of this. He's not complaining. "Figured I'd bring the whole troupe and we'd invade for a while."

He sniffs the air and starts going off in the direction of food. "And chili, of course.."

"Oh, of course. That, and frybread. I had to look up the recipe on the internet, so it may not be as good as whoever it is that cooks for the Titans."

He manages to outmaneuver his brother and start for the tree. Now, him on all fours, diving under the tree. He'll be glad later Mia or Tara wasn't around.

"There are two packages under here. Let me see if I can hind them..."

Lian followed her daddy and mom into the house, grinning from ear to ear. Presents, chili, family and fry bread. The house smelled good and looked good too.

"Do you need help Uncle Connor?" She giggled a little at him on all fours.

She just barely stifled her laughter as Mom took the picture, almost ready to burst with glee. The holidays were great.

He knows he left himself open, but this is family. It'd be a different matter if it were mixed company, or even Kyle.

He raises an eyebrow and hands the two packages to Roy and donna. there's also a package for Lian at his feet. He's not gonna deprive the kid of the pleasure of diving under the tree.

"Only with this," he says, pointing to the big box.

What Lian will find inside? A book about Greek Mythology, a book on Navaho culture (both picked out with the thumbs-up of her parents), and a little book with a lock on the front. Yes, Lian. It's a diary.

There is the sound of the roof door opening and closing, and then a voice is heard from the stairwell.

Alright! Who invited all the rabble?!

Ollie pokes his head into the stairwell.

He watches his dad go upstairs and turns to the others.

"Well, have a seat! Make yourselves comfortable."

Donna gets out the chairs and extends the table. Superstrength has several uses. "Has dinner been made yet?"

"Just Chili and some chopped up vegetables for the moment. I did get a turkey - Mia's insistence. And that's cooking now."
