Going for a drive...

(this happens after the current Caleb/Amelia dream scene).

Sand could have very easily teleported to JSA HQ.  In the mood to stop by, so to speak.

He decided to go out of Metropolis and drive.  He doesn't get to do that much nowadays.

As he's getting off the exit to go into the city problem, he fiddles with his Lex-M satellite radio.  He normally doesn't spend much time on the county stations...but for some reason this song grabbed him...

I was glued to my tv when it looked like he looked at me and said
"Best start putting first things first."

The radio goes silent for the rest of the trip until he gets to the brownstone. 

Fortunately, they didn't write his codes out of the security system.

There's a light on in one of the side rooms of the brownstone; a moment later footsteps can be heard and Jesse comes out into the hallway, tucking a book under one arm and bobbing her head to some barely heard music coming from tiny earphones.

She stops upon seeing him, and after pulling the earphones out, says in an even tone, "Sand. Welcome back."

Sand smiles. "Oh, hi Jesse. You're JSA today?"

He smiles. The fact that Jesse counts multiple memberships in various groups is something of a fun fact to tease her about at times. "Just...stopping by. Things have been fairly quiet."

"Well, it's... what day is it again? Whichever, I guess it's my JSA day." She smiles back at him. "Is this where I'm supposed to say, 'it's TOO quiet' or something like that?"

"That would be the classic response in the comic books. At least back in the old days." Sand says. "What brings you out here?"

"Catching up on the financials. Been letting it slide a little too much recently." She shrugs. "Too many teams to keep track of, maybe."

"Maybe." Sand says. "How are things Titan-wise, anyways. Weren't you dating one of them at one point...?"

Jesse gets a little pink for a moment, and smiles. "Not anyone recently -- on the Titans East side, they're all either married or too young. As for how things are going..." She shrugs. "We're trying to get more involved in the community, make things a little more friendly. It'll take some time, but we're nothing if not stubborn."

"So it's been a little while... what are you up to these days?"

"Trying to lay low after invading Cuba." Sand says.

No, he's not joking.
