"It must be done."  One would think.  Almost as if he's trying to convince himself.   The observer sees madness and the end of a city.   Chaos happening during the Fawcett City Bullets home game has shown him the way.

"I will be forgiven for this.  I will rebuild from the ashes.  The land after this will be rich.  Fertile.  Ready to receive my blessings a thousand times over."    He continues to stare out the window.  If it didn't work, he would be ruined.  However, when it did, he would be proven correct.

In his eyes, its flawed.  Fawcett was well known as a spiritual hotbed, so its energies were ripe to be amended, and harvested for the right person.  He misspoke.  "Not a person, a God."  The loss of a few fortunes is inconsequential.  A town full of unbelievers is nothing but a sacrifice.

"Because soon...I will ascend.  Back to my proper throne.  The souls will be my pathway to immortality.

....and I will be whole."

Oblivious to the onlooker and his schemes, the Cyborg Superman continues to punch the code into the bomb, laughing softly, and then maniacally as the sequence continues. It makes sense that the sequence would be this long, of course, as you couldn't have just anyone setting off a bomb this size. That would be insane.

The Cyborg looks around at the empty football ground once, before going to press the final key.

The crack of a sonic boom cuts through Henshaw's laughter, and then Black Adam is simply there, hovering a few dozen feet above the Cyborg as if he'd been there the entire time, arms crossed and face set in an imperious scowl.

This high up, his whisper of a single word is barely heard, even with the Cyborg's enhanced senses. But there is nothing difficult to sense about the thunderbolt that pierces the heavens in response.

With the speed of Heru, Adam easily dodges the bolt of magical energy, leaving it free to arc straight down onto Hank Henshaw.

[identity profile] mr-henshaw.livejournal.com 2010-06-08 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
The bolt crashes towards Earth, and smashes into the Cyborg Superman, enveloping his entire body in divine power and wrath! Various parts of his body erupt with electricity and explode, while others short circuit and melt. All the while he chatters the same constant "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" until the blast abates, leaving him kneeling on the turf of the pitch.

He reaches up slowly to press the final key on the bomb, but finds his fingers twitching and flexing uncontrollably. "Whoever you are, you will rue this day!" With a grind and a shriek of metal, Henshaw pulls himself up to full height and makes a sweeping arc of heat vision across the sky.

Even as Henshaw rises to his feet, his unexpected enemy is diving down towards him, hurtling towards the Earth with a speed that even most Kryptonians would be hard pressed to match. The Cyborg's arc of heat vision strikes Black Adam less than twenty feet from Henshaw himself. At such close range, any normal human being would be vaporized. Even most metahumans would have been destroyed. But aside from an angry scar across his dark suit, Henshaw's enemy is seemingly unharmed.

"You would be wise to surrender while you are still able."

Black Adam descends the last dozen feet, his feet settling on the ground directly between the Cyborg Superman and his bomb.

"You would be wise to fly away as fast as you can!!" The Cyborg charges at the bomb, connecting with it and smashing into it with such force that the chemo within begins to rumble and then spray out at high pressure across the stadium.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!! If I cannot level this city, I'll make the centre of it a toxic waste dump so large that the BP spill will resemble a piss in the ocean!" As the poison spews out, he hurls himself at Black Adam.

Despite Black Adam's intent, the Cyborg Superman is too fast even for his advanced senses. Too fast to intercept physically, at least. Fortunately, Teth has other means of attack at his disposal.

He has no intention of indulging Henshaw with a protracted duel. The Cyborg's resilience is legendary, and the wisdom of Zehuti counsels Adam that strength alone can never overcome Henshaw. It is enough to hold Henshaw at bay, though, and as the Cyborg nears melee distance Adam grabs the fist aimed at his chin milliseconds before impact.

"I gave you warning. Remember that as you die."

Black Adam's other hand reaches out for Henshaw's head, grabbing the Cyborg's face in an iron grip and lifting them both into the air.

"Death would be a mercy for me, you moron!!" Henshaw's rictus grin doesn't falter as he shoots into the air, held tight by Black Adam. Even though his head is held firmly in the godlike man's hand, he still blasts away with heat vision as they rocket up, up and away.

"So what are you going to do, Black Adam?! Drop me!? HAHAHAAHAAHAAHAAA!!" It is hard not to find the fixed metallic smile and the ecstasy the Cyborg feels as he gets closer and closer to oblivion disturbing.

Black Adam doesn't dignify Henshaw with a response. The man - if this monstrosity can even be called a man - is clearly insane. And Teth has fought his share of madmen. He doesn't waste his breath.

It's all he can do to keep hold of the Cyborg Superman. Henshaw's heat vision sears his chest, and even Black Adam cannot withstand this intensity for long. Fortunately, he doesn't need to.

Here, just beneath the clouds, the lightning will be at it's peak. And Black Adam brings the thunder.

"Shazam."

Black Adam bodily twists the Cyborg, directly into the path of the magical thunderbolt. A point-blank strike.

The Cyborg would scream, but cannot. The power is too much, and it's all Henshaw can do to redirect some of the blast at the fourth man part of his little evil quadrangle. This was Plan B.

Hank smiles again as his circuits fuse and he sees the lightning passing away over the city and towards its target. His eyes blank and he shuts down.

For now, anyway.

"Well, well. I was worried it wasn't going to work, but the vitals look good."

Sivana communicates through the device built into the suit.

"Is it everything you were expecting?"

"You know..." The Cyborg boots up again, his gears grinding and his circuitry humming. "I do get so tired of this planet and its meddling heroes. Sivana? Fawcett will not be destroyed today. You can deal with the after-affects of charging up a lunatic with divine power."

His head turns to Black Adam with a loud crack. "This is not the end, Black Adam. But I have more fertile earth to till." The Cyborg Superman launches himself into the air and away from Fawcett City.
