Interrogation at Blackgate

 Captain Maggie Sawyer had been in a foul mood for awhile now. First that lunatic Johnny Sorrow killed nearly everyone working at Blackgate, unleashing it's criminals on the populace. Second that crazy preacher put the whole city under some kind of mind control in the name of some alien god. She'd been about to put a hole through that flaming psycho, Doctor Phosphorus', head when Sorrow reappears and backhands her into unconsciousness. And during that time the GCPD building was destroyed, forcing them to regroup elsewhere. And as if to add insult to injury, this new drug craze took root and now if she was hearing things right another new syndicate was making moves into Gotham. Does it ever fucking stop?

Maggie was currently taking a break, neither the albino nor the metal man were saying anything relevant.

Wiry figure in blue and black, wearing a smile beneath a mask, is another of the Bat brigade, leaning against the nearest wall. Casual, comfortable, cocky.

Damn, it was good to be back as himself.

Shrapnel turned in the direction of the voice, seeing Nightwing.

"Well, if it isn't Batman-Lite? I take it you're here to ask me some questions. Or throw out insults all night. I can do that too."

"Just came here to watch the circus," replies Nightwing cheerfully. "How did you get even uglier since the last time I saw you?"

"What can I say, my genetics suck. At least I don't look like the gymnast from Hell." Shrapnel replied snarkily. "So what's on your so-called mind?"

Nightwing lightly applauds, a clear golf clap, sarcastic, as he replies, "D- on the insultometer, pal. I'm just here making sure you don't blow your top."

"Pity I'm not here to impress you with my witty repartee." Shrapnel would have raised an eyebrow if he could. "Blow my top? What the hell are you talking about?"

"Lose your temper, spontaneously combust, that sort of thing." Nightwing nods to the rest of the cell. "What're you two enjoying discussing, anyway?"

"Ah, well as you can see by my cramped accommodations, using my powers here would be pretty damn pointless. Mostly I'm pissed they didn't put a chair in here." Shrapnel crosses his arms and shrugs. "Mostly passing the time." He doesn't elaborate on "until what".

Nightwing smiles again. Mister Cheer, that's him, as if he needs to make up for Batman's darkness. "Yeah? Until?"

Shrapnel smiles. "Now that would be telling."

"Indulge me."

"And why would I be inclined to tell you anything? You going to hit me if I don't? I guarantee you that approach won't work with me."

Nightwing smiles a bit, ruefully, glad that he's wearing a costume other than the Bat's. "That's not really my thing. I leave that to people who have less patience."

"Well," Nightwing answers pleasantly enough, "I figured I'd just stand here and be annoying until you feel like saying something."

Then he starts humming to himself, softly...the Hamster Dance song.

Shrapnel began to grit his teeth. "This is cruel and unusual punishment, kid. Why don't you go after one of the crazies this city can't seem to contain?"

Shrapnel began to pound on the wall.

"Knock it off, ya jerk! Hey guard! This guy's harassing me!"

Nightwing is trying not to look smug as he asks, "You sure you don't want to just, you know, talk to me for a few minutes about what's going on?"

Shrapnel growled and ran in his head possible information that could be disclosed that wouldn't constitute being vital.

"What, you mean other than the fact a grown man in tights is singing the fucking Hamster Dance?" Shrapnel replied, clearly aggravated.

"Catchy tune, isn't it?" Nightwing goes back to humming, eyes sparkling under his mask.
