Lois Lane, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist (she might just consider making that her full name), settles on her sofa with a cup of tea, a few slices of dry toast and a stack of notes because note cards are more fun to flip through when interviewing. This is meant to be a comfortable setting for her and the man she's interviewing, and it's always nice when she can do something with her shoes off.

We had a...connection there. I'd...become involved with people who were trying to change things there. When I heard about Reyes, it sounded like something right up our alley. They gave us the information that allowed us to get in without blowing a hole in the building and endangering others.

Alejandro Reyes-- he prefers to avoid the 'President', I think -- is in an Amnesty safehouse on the West Coast. If, somehow, his asylum application isn't granted, he packs his bags and moves on to a country without its head up...er, with a more sympathetic view of his plight. If the U.N. steps in and declares him an international fugitive, we put him on a flying pig and send him to another planet.

He could have stayed underground in Costa Linda, by the way, but he chose to work this out legally. He's got more confidence in the system than I do, and a helluva lot of guts.

As long as they don't want to fingerprint me, I'll do my best to be there.

I'm actually glad you asked. The people I was working with? There was a mole. Someone was working to seize power from Fuentes and take over his little regime. They tried to set us up and take Reyes out.

They failed, but they set off their bombs anyway. We ended up opening a lot of doors without checking on who was in them, just to keep people from getting killed. I don't think we saved everyone.

That traitor has a lot to answer for.

Much as I'd like to out the bastard, it would compromise other people. I'll save my accusations for the Security Council. Hopefully, they'll refrain from publishing the results.
