An Arrival at the Brownstone

With all that's been going on, Alan can hardly believe how long it's been since he checked in at the Brownstone. Wondering how his friends and compatriots might be doing, and finding things in his "normal" life to be on the sedate side, he opts to make a visit. A swirling green portal of magical energy opens in the lobby of the museum and Alan steps through, glancing about to see who might be there.

Asleep on a couch in the ajoining study is Billy Batson. A copy of Catcher in the Rye rests on his chest barely grasped by his relaxed hand.

Alan steps lightly and quietly, grabbing the blanket off the back of the couch and delicately placing it over Billy. Poor boy. Alan feels for the weight that Billy bares upon his shoulders, though he knows in his heart that the Wizard would never have chosen him if he was not the right one...Well, almost never. Teth Adam was a different time and a different place.
