Savant leans back onto the blessedly giving cushions of their couch, in quiet awe of his own restraint: he managed to last a whole twenty-four hours before removing the cotton gauze from his nostrils. Given the choice between risking nosebleed and nearly inhaling the damned stuff every time he tries to sleep -- and he's actually been tired enough to sleep; another minor miracle! -- he'll take the risk.

Injuries aside, he's feeling rather good about the entire Sigiorello incident. They all walked away from it, something that he'd very much doubted would happen, and, for now, he's willing to take a day or two to heal and let other matters tend to themselves.

Creote put a timer to it. It was twenty-four hours exactly.

Not that Savant will appreciate the effort when he sees his tea tray has gauze in addition to his favourite tea.

"Open your mouth and you have to deal with neither."

Creote's in full-on mothering mode, injuries or no. He even has his favourite apron on. Because yes, he does actually have more than one.

"I've been bandaged. I'll be fine. Now, drank your damn tea."

"Keep yourself awake? Savant, you need to ask yourself an important question.

"I control your medication."

"Not at all. I'm saying that snoring or no, you're going to sleep peacefully."

Creote firmly walks across the room here just to make a point.

And he does stick his tongue out.

"It does. And vaguely...interesting."

Pleasant isn't the right word for it, though it does come to mind. Which really only makes it more interesting.

"But I have done similar missions for my home country. This is nothing new to me. It is you about whom I worry."

"Before these women, your altruistic actions led to, well, blackmail and crime. Will a similar pattern be observed?"

"I see no problem. You know that my loyalty lies with you, and I will stand by you regardless. I'm just curious where the road leads from here."

"Interesting."

Again, pleasant isn't the best word. But also again, it does indeed come to mind.

"Until then?"

"This was her job. Her mission. It went well, so of course she would be pleased. And very likely stressed as well."

There is a look given to Savant before Creote leaves the room. It is only a minute before he is back, with a plate of sandwiches and the same exasperated glare.

"You need to eat."

Creote scowls.

"You are being a big, stubborn baby. Now eat."

"It is my way of...celebrating."

Ugh. Emotions.

Creote points to the gauze here.

"And I won't be washing the blood out of your sheets after your nose starts bleeding again."

Creote doesn't budge easy. And as stoically observant as he is, it doesn't take much to truly confuse him.

"...What the hell are you doiing?"

Creote is down almost as quickly as Savant is, though he didn't fall. Instead, he's down there to make sure that Savant is okay.

With ease, he picks Savant up in his arms and carries him back to the living room where he sets him on the couch.

"Stay here." If Savant could get up, Creote's voice would strongly advise against it. "I'm going to get an ice pack."

Creote stands in the doorway for a minute and smiles at his unconscious friend.

A glass of water and Savant's morning pills are set out on the tea tray, and Creote makes his way to his own room. Sleep sounds like a good idea, especially if it makes the ache in his back and legs stop.
