The Titans' arrival is silent and swift, determined and precise. Before the shadow of the jet falls over the state line, Nightwing is relaying the plan to the rest of the team.
"Starfire, flank the building and come around from the rear. Hit it hard, make sure they can't get out. Robin, hit the power on that place. Don't wait, Wonder Girl and Nightstar - get inside and do what you do best. Kid Flash, Jesse, you're looking for anything in there while they're being kept busy that can give us an edge on this damned virus. Omen, keep tabs on any magic users in there. Flamebird, Speedy, follow me in after the heavy hitters do their thing. We're on cleanup."
He pauses to check the instrumentation. "And whoever finds Light... make sure you hurt him."

Today, however, she snarls, "I don't care what your reasons are; what you're doing is WRONG!" and comes tearing at him with superspeed and a flare of superstrength behind her. Both fists are out ahead of her as she flies directly toward him, aiming for his face. A sonic boom cracks the wall behind her.

Date: 2006-11-13 05:53 pm (UTC)Slowly, a level of bile crosses the mind and throat of the Man of Steel. People are dying. His SON could DIE, and the Titans...especially this three-timing wannabe...is wasting...his...time.
Lives are at stake.
Once the knee connects, Superman rolls over onto top of Jesse, then snaps a headbutt right towards her face, while shoving downwards at top speed. Jesse's way fast, but she's not Wally.

Date: 2006-11-13 09:29 pm (UTC)The upshot is that the breath's still going when the cola hits. Shards of frozen sugar water hit Superman's face, and while most of his face is invulnerable, the shard that strikes directly in his eye causes Superman to flinch, and when he comes up, he's bleeding from his right eye.
However, that's not all that's about to come from his eyes. They begin to glow deep red.

Fight is done.

Date: 2006-11-14 01:05 am (UTC)However, he'd seen and heard Jesse hit the ground, then watched as she didn't get up. As if he really needed anything else to be angry about, now Superman has put one of his teammates on the floor. Grabbing one of the guards by the throat, Damage tosses the unfortunate man into a group of his compatriots.
Think we can't handle this, like we're just incompetent kids. They're not going to stop me from figuring out who did this to Lian!
Damage turns toward Superman, stretching out his arms, palms outward, the bluish-white power aura burning brightly, having crept up to his shoulders. Without any further warning, a wide blast of explosive energy tearing from his hands, aimed directly at the Man of Steel.

Date: 2006-11-14 01:43 am (UTC)His first thought is how shoddy the teamwork is, given he waited until Jesse was down.
The next thought is that there's no way in hell he's going to be taken down by DAMAGE
He turns around and flies straight at him...then stops three feet short of impact and fires heat vision directly at his chest.

Date: 2006-11-14 02:11 am (UTC)Picking himself up off the floor, Grant spits at the floor, running his forearm over his lips. "We can handle this, Superman! I don't know why you're interfering, but we don't need your help!" he calls out.
The power aura shimmers around his arms as he rushes forward, aiming a hard right cross at Superman's shoulder, following up with an uppercut to the Kryptonian's chin.

Date: 2006-11-14 03:34 am (UTC)"We're interfering because you're doing what you do best - blow things up for no good reason in a way that gets people hurt!!!!"
A tiny fragment of sense in the back of his mind tells him that he's going to regret saying that at some point.
But not today.
Superman returns the shot in kind, moving low for a punch to the solarplexus, followed by a crude legsweep to get Damage onto his stomach before rolling over into an elbow right to the back of the neck.

Date: 2006-11-14 04:12 am (UTC)And now the Most Powerful Man on Earth has gone and done something he really shouldn't have - he wounded Damage's pride. "Go to hell--!" he yells out, cocking back his fist, leaving him wide open for Superman's punch. It hits hard, colliding right with his solar plexus, causing the Titan to double over.
The sweep catches him off guard, and he falls, but Damage continues the roll up over his shoulder, coming up on one knee as Superman's elbow slams into the floor. Coughing and wheezing, trying to pull air back into his lungs, tears stinging at his eyes, the meta turns back toward Superman and...jumps.
Leaping into the air, he tucks his legs, meaning to drive his knees into the man's back, his countenance clouded with rage.

Date: 2006-11-14 12:50 pm (UTC)Superman spins, and catches him in midair, then flies up about 100-200 feet at superspeed, until whipping and twisting around in an attempt to cause vertigo in someone that's never done superspeed very much.
After about five seconds of this, Superman flies straight down, driving Damage into the earth outside of the complex.

Date: 2006-11-14 05:32 pm (UTC)His fingers grasp tightly at the other man's shoulders, his eyes screwing tightly shut, and all he can do is hang on and hope he can regain his senses. There is the briefest of pauses as Superman's arc ends and he turns the pair toward the ground, and Damage knows he's in trouble.
Before he can even think about twisting around to lessen the blow, the ground rushes up to meet him and his shoulders and upper back collide with the earth, the impact leaving a rather sizable crater, and all the Titan can manage is a barely audible, "Hnnnf!!"
Shaking his head - and man does that hurt - Damage struggles underneath the Kryptonian for a moment. Superman will see his power aura begin to glower brighter brighter, just before a torrent of explosive energy, more powerful that what he'd unleashed moments before, tears from his palms, tightly focused beams fired from both palms at pointblank range.

Superman flies, at top speed, back to Damage. Grant manages to hear the sonic boom right before he sees Superman's fist, at top speed, inches from his face.

Date: 2006-11-14 05:53 pm (UTC)All he sees is a rapidly approaching streak of red and blue, and the vague outline of a very powerful fist. There isn't even time to get an arm up to try to feebly deflect the blow. Superman's fist collides with Damage's cheek, sending him flying, and Superman, who can hear clouds scrape together, will be able to hear the veins and arteries in his face burst.
At least Grant will be able to say that Superman gave him that nice shiner.
It takes a little while, but he does eventually come back down to earth, his shoulder slamming into the ground. Grant skids about a hundred yards, his body wearing a trail in the grass and soil, and he lays there, motionless, defeated, done.
