The Titans' arrival is silent and swift, determined and precise. Before the shadow of the jet falls over the state line, Nightwing is relaying the plan to the rest of the team.

"Starfire, flank the building and come around from the rear. Hit it hard, make sure they can't get out. Robin, hit the power on that place. Don't wait, Wonder Girl and Nightstar - get inside and do what you do best. Kid Flash, Jesse, you're looking for anything in there while they're being kept busy that can give us an edge on this damned virus. Omen, keep tabs on any magic users in there. Flamebird, Speedy, follow me in after the heavy hitters do their thing. We're on cleanup."

He pauses to check the instrumentation. "And whoever finds Light... make sure you hurt him."

He speaks again - hard to pin down where the voice is coming from. "Mar'i, I don't think you're in full control of your senses. We all just need to talk this out.."

"Talk is cheap. So're your action figures." More starbolts pepper the area where she thinks he's hiding.

One of the bolts grazes the hardened shell of the Blue Beetle - unfortunately, enough to disrupt the cloaking device.

"Okay, we'll just have to talk this over after the obligatory fight.." He talks a lot, but he's moving too - the mind of a man with years of practice at martial arts and acrobatics, freed of the limitations of the flesh. Beetle's weapons gauntlet takes aim as he bounds between cover, directing an intense sonic attack at his assailant.

"Aaaaagh!" Her hearing is only human, and the sonics are rattling her brain.

Pretty much as they're intended to work. He makes a mistake, though - he lets up, and shouts to be heard over the ringing in her ears.

"Let's stop this crap, Mar'i - we're both supposed to be on the same side."

Instantly she whirls and fires, aiming for the avatar's upper chest.

"Dammit."

That one punctures the outer shell, and sends the lightweight robotic body reeling, but he recovers acrobatically, landing in a crouch, and then launches himself forward, activating the 'flash' on his weapons gauntlet, emitting a pulse of blinding light.

No more talking for the moment.

"X'hal!" That hurt, her sensitive eyes more vulnerable to light.

She can do this. She was taught how to fight blindfolded. All she has to do is keep her eyes shut and listen....

She can hear the light, rapid footfalls approaching - and perhaps smell the faint smell of ozone as his taser energizes to accompany a punch.

One hand comes up and she fires in the direction of the footfalls.

A sound of metal crumpling indicates that the blast at least partially struck home, but his advance is underterred, as he brings the energized fist in towards her midriff.

Her breath whooshes out of her, but her hand comes up again and fires another starbolt at his head while one foot swings up to strike at the robot's hip joint.

He jerks the head out of the way, but the kick in the pelvic area makes him glad for this robot surrogate all over again. The composites that form the robot's shell are awfully tough, though - her foot can't feel good after that.

Seeing that the initial taser charge didn't do much, he boosts the gain by fifty percent and tries to tag her again.

Oh, she felt that one. Her body jerks and spasms with the blow.

One of his shoulder joints is damaged, and there are a few holes in the chassis - it's time to stop acting like a kid with a new utility belt and get down to business.

He's been honing the martial arts skills again for just such an occasion - moving in with an attempt to grab and twist her arm to gain leverage.

He grabs her wrist, but she's not stopping. The hand in his grasp bursts into violet flame while her other hand clenches into a fist and heads for the robot's eyes.

A hand moves to block the punch, and some more metal shrieks in protest - and he tries to twist Mar'i into a submission hold.

Boy, I hope those cameras aren't still rolling for this one..

She falls to her knees, and tries to pull him off balance as she tilts backwards.

He shifts his stance, and maintains the grip. "Nothing doing, kid. Let's just take it easy - you can see I'm not trying to hurt you, let's talk this out.."

"Don't--" She kicks at his legs. "Call me--" She grimaces and tries to pull her hand free. "Kid!"
