Somewhere deep in Louisiana, hell has come to earth.

It was a simple matter to cast the pseudo-EMP pulse to kill the power - simpler still to render the majority of the guards inert.

She then communicated telepathically to the inmates.  Cause chaos.  Kill any hero you see.  Get to New Orleans.  There will be transportation there.  And money. Significant money.

It was so easy to motivate such as these.

One more spell to allow many of them to get their gear - and then all the Three needed to do was wait.

Trevor shivers a bit when they reappear, and then tries to get a bearing on their surroundings. "Dark" is the first thing that pops to mind, with the second being that what's under his feet feels like concrete.

"Can I ask where the hell we are without regretting the answer?"

Caleb’s response is a loud whisper. The last thing he needs right now is his voice echoing down the tunnel.

“Probably not, but I’ll answer anyway. We’re approximately fifty meters southwest of our previous position. Oh, and about three stories beneath the ground.” All is silent for a time as Caleb mentally reaches out before them, confirming that their path is clear. “I don’t believe they’ve discovered these tunnels yet. So much the better.”

Trevor matches his friend and teammate's volume, and cups a small white ball of flame in his hand to illuminate he path ahead of them. "Which I assume means that this leads into the prison."

Trevor starts up the path, noting the fact that this tunnel looks as though it was built and then never used. "Can I ask why we didn't just go in through one of the walls? I mean, I'm not knocking stealth, but there actually is something to be said for the 'Shock and Awe' approach when you're this badly outnumbered."

“Because we’re only going to get one shot at this, and if it’s to work, we have to do it right.” Caleb turns to his best friend. “An extremely capable telepath is incarcerated inside. If he absconds, there’ll be nothing to stop him from telepathically forcing his will on anyone, anywhere, at any time.” Given his personal experiences, Caleb is rather personally invested in not allowing anyone to subvert another’s free will. If Caleb had it’s way, doing so would constitute a crime against humanity.

He sighs for a moment, forcing himself to discontinue that line of though and re-focus on the task at hand. “Were we to even be seen entering the prison by someone who wasn’t shielded from his telepathic probes, he’d be aware of our presence. Discretion, in this instance, is the better part of valor.”

With a coy smile Caleb motions for Trevor to follow him as he begins walking down the hallway, pistol in hand. “I used to train in these tunnels back when I was a DEO Swat agent. In, uh …. in the event that they government needed to, well, pull another Attica, this is how we’d have breached the compound unseen.”

Trevor grimaces. Telepathy. Great. He likes Brainwave well enough, but for the most part Trevor has what he considers to be a healthy wariness of people who can screw with his mind.

"So how are we going to maneuver once we're in the prison? You don't look much like a prison guard, and I doubt orange and yellow spandex over kevlar and leather will pass for a prison uniform."

“No, it won’t.” The tunnel twists into a staircase, and Caleb very cautiously ascends it. He’s focusing on his ability to feel the locations of souls relative to himself, as to prevent any surprises. “There’s a place ahead where we’ll be able to get inside the walls.”

He stops, and turns to his team mate. It’s such an amazingly simple thing, but it didn’t occur to him to ask until now. Some things just never come up in conversation, after all. “You, uh … you’re neither claustrophobic, nor incapable of silently maneuvering in tight quarters, I assume.”

"I've never had a problem with tight spaces, and there are more than a few Slum-bags who can tell you how quiet I can be when I don't want someone to hear me."

He silently nods in approval, before proceeding on. In less than a minute they’re inside the walls of Bell Reeve, with Caleb using his soul sensing ability to guide him to Hector Hammond. The going is slow, but steady…
