As the Canary rounds a corner into a larger hallway, leading to the main monitor room, she feels a sharp, hard knee right into her abdomen, followed by a textbook ipponzei throw that sends her onto her back.
As the heroes whip around, they can see a shape materializing roughly 20 feet down the hallway.
The man that started all this mess.
However, he looks different. He's clean - shaven. He's wearing a different version of his long-standing costume. No fin helmet. The material of the costume is tougher looking, more combat ready.
But it's the eyes. The eyes that show no surprise over their arrival. In fact, there's a sense of familiarity in them.
This was what he wanted. This is what they wanted.
Be careful what you wish for.
"Long day?" Light says, smiling.

Date: 2006-11-22 12:31 am (UTC)It's about time The Flash made the decisive action once more.
Out of nowhere, he's flying - burst of a superspeed cyclone launching up high enough to hit Light full-force... and he tries something he's only theorized before.
His hands slap hard against Light's ears as he tackles him backwards through the air, and immediately he starts a Speed Force rattle of his entire cranium - should wreak holy havoc on his inner ear, and thus his balance, as well as scrambling his thought processes for a time, and completely disorient the nerve endings throughout his whole body.
The pain is the worst part. It should feel like the skin is being torn off of his scalp.
It might not be exactly what Ralph hoped he'd come up with, but it should give them enough time to END this...

Date: 2006-11-22 01:09 am (UTC)THEN the pain comes, as the mindworm is once again shaken and stirred.
But he focuses. His hate, his anger. What they DID to him. All of it. He finds his center...his calm. Something he would have never done before his experiences with the Black Canary.
With Wally focused on his head, Light hits him with the same trick that Deathstroke tried on Zatanna on the day that Light regained his senses..a punch designed to take his breath away and activate his gag reflex.
Just enough time for Light to regain his bearings. He needs to cut to the chase - despite taking apart their best, they still keep finding ways to get to him.

Date: 2006-11-22 01:59 am (UTC)If Light thought that threatening Katar was going to keep her from coming at him for very long, he was very wrong. Fear is one thing Hawkwoman is excellent at working through. And as the mindworm is rattled, she gathers her focus to rush him again.
She's mad as hell. She can do this all day. He can keep knocking her back, but it's gonna take a lot more than what he's been dishing out to her to keep her down.
So she doesn't get to play, does she?
Yeah. She and her big fucking mace disagree with that. Her big fucking mace, which she's raising above her head, fast, to bring it down with considerable force...

Date: 2006-11-22 02:29 am (UTC)Because with a swing like that, the baseball would end up in KANSAS CITY'S stadium.
Light flies. The orbital bone in his cheek is cracked in six places. Only the fact that he hardened his light aura saved him from having his skull caved in. She was playing for keeps.
Good. The angrier they are, the sloppier they are.
As she charges in for a follow-up mace shot, Light catches the mace in mid-air with a plasma light ball and flash-melts it.
The fact that Shayera's hand is in the ball is kind of irrelevant to Light at the moment.

Date: 2006-11-22 02:54 am (UTC)Not that it hurts right away. She pulls her hand back and that's when it hits her. Along with the smell of burned leather and skin. That really fucking hurts.
Still, she's got another hand that can weild the blade she's pulling out right now.
Taking a breath and steeling herself before coming at him again.
She is getting sloppier - and she knows it, too. But that doesn't make her any less determined. At least she's got a good extra rush of adrenaline to go on now.

Date: 2006-11-22 03:07 am (UTC)And another ball of plasma envelops the OTHER hand. Kiss that blade goodbye.
Maybe at some point I'll tap that ass of yours. Probably half the reason Thanagarians are so grumpy is that they're too used to having SOMETHING up their ass.
