They had taken up residence in the infirmary to start patching up the wounded and see how many people were missing. Tefe knew that some of the prisoners had escaped into the swamp but they could wait for now. Most of them had no idea what they were in for by escaping into the Louisiana swampland. They'd be happy to be recaptured most likely.

She had caused no few blushes and stares by showing up the way she had. It wasn't her fault she could heal her skin but not her clothes after her encounter with the napalm. Now she was dressed in a long shirt with her bare legs and feet showing from beneath it.

Caleb needed to be sat on and healed but he had to sit still for two seconds first, that would be the hard part. Other than than Tefe wasn't sure who else was around and what they still had to do.

"Hold still." The guard flinched when she touched him where he had a large gash on his face until he realized where she touched there was no more pain. "There, not even a scar. You can go now." Flesh wounds were easy, that's why she always healed them first. Bones were much harder.

Hopefully the others were on their way, Tefe wasn't exactly a take charge of a bad situation kind of gal. At least not in a situation like this, when it came down to fighting she usually took care of herself and then left. Others took care of the aftermath and these people were looking at her like she knew what to do.

And really she didn't.

Travis, thankfully, seems to have his end of things well in hand. He's tracked down a couple of the prisoners - easy enough to find most of them, just time consuming. So far, the Royal Flush Gang have been the tough ones to catch any sign of.
He transports a few of the wounded back to the healer, and hovers there, waiting to check if anything else is needed. As far as her state - well, all the same to him, really.

Travis hovers and nods, preparing to head out to collect either more criminals or more wounded. His injuries look stable enough - he's certainly had far worse.
"The ring'll hold me together fine til its charge runs out."

He gives her a smile. "I'll go get it recharged when its running low. I'd rather not walk home, or be surrounded by an army I just put back in prison without a ring. And so far, I've gotten a handful out of the swamp, there's a few more in there, but they're easy to track. Most stuff in there is cold blooded or not that big. Trying to balance out moving wounded, and trying to prevent any of the escapees from becoming wounded. And even so, I keep feeling there's something more I should be doing."

The smile remains, though its a bit rueful, and he shakes his head. "I can go without food or rest a lot longer than this. Its not the Belle Reve thing... we have this fairly well in hand, as prison breaks go. Its more about the grand scheme of things. I should be able to figure out what Light is up to, and track his signal... but I'm missing some information here. Some things just aren't adding up, and the math is killing a lot of kids."

Trevor makes his way into the infirmary, one arm around Caleb's waist, the other holding Caleb's arm around his shoulder.

"We got a clean-up on aisle three. Oh, and a manager's special on demon meat- custom tenderized."

The jokes are flying a little faster than usual, and have the air of not being well thought-out, unlike Trevor's usual jabs. The simple truth is, he has no idea what the hell Caleb may have done to himself by sucking Hammond's soul, and the blood that has tainted Caleb's last few regurgitations has him scared shit-less.

A quick scan to gather information on their condition, and Travis frowns. "I've got most of the cons traced, and most of the staff are accounted for. You guys... take it easy for a bit. Tefe does good work."

He’s warm to the touch, having developed a fever in the past few minutes. Something is wrong with him, and it’s not immediately evident if Tefe is having any effect on it.

He runs a scan, but shakes his head. "I don't know, this will take someone with more mojo than me. Good luck folks... I still have a bunch of work to do before I get back to trying to trace that signal. Give me a call if you need me, k?"

There’s an odd mental calm about him. Once her power began to have an effect, it took away the pain so quickly that it’s as though his body is wondering where the pain went.

“I-I believe so, yes.”

He leans forward, only to discover that he’s somewhat more sore than he thought he was. He sighs, and cautiously continues, coming so prop himself up on his hands. Caleb has no idea what’s wrong with him, but it’s fairly obvious that this woman does.

“What’s wrong with me?”

Corrine ventures in. There's two injured staff behind her, one floating just off the ground in a delicate white aura. She directs the walking one-- stitches, probably, maybe a slight knock on the head-- to a spare bed. Tefe seems to be playing doctor and she's content to let her handle that one.

The one in the aura gets set down gently on a bed and Corrine looks the man over with contemplation. She's got enough field medic training to know what the wheeze in his lungs is and that's the first problem. She sets to it, and after some incanting, the man is safe and sleeping.

Corrine's not terribly hurt herself, a couple of cuts and bruises. Then again, it's the norm for her. A few minutes alone and even those won't be a concern, but right now she doesn't much care. She wanders over to a sink and starts vigorously washing her face and some of the grit from her hair.

Sand is the next to walk in, and is impressed with the efficiency that they've put the triage unit together. Almost as much as the way they managed to quell the breakout, to a certain degree.

This team thing might work after all.

He walks over to Corrine and gently kisses her forehead, then turns on his comm unit. "Sand to Oracle, Belle Reve is under control. Magique and a few second-string villains managed to escape, but given that she set Hector Hammond loose on us, we consider ourselves lightly. Currently working on triage and securing Belle Reve until the DEO gets here. Awaiting further orders."

After the kids, the talk with Dr. Palmer, and now Hammond having stomped around in her head, Corrine's pretty drained.

She finds a space to sit and relax, laying her head on her knees. "Meep."

“I doubt that's a good sighn," he says through an uneasy smile. "Are you alright?”

Deductive reasoning was always Caleb’s single strongest skill. It’s the skill which has allowed him to master so many others.

Right. Deductive genius.

This is usually the part where she'd fling some snide remark in his direction. It doesn't come. "Yeah. Y'know. 'Phenomenal cosmic power'," she smirks a little, "Itty bitty brain space."

Travis is good to his word. As soon as people are tended to, he's off again, tirelessly tracking people into the swamp, detecting for heat signatures - after all, almost everything in there is cold blooded or smaller than a man, so it works well.
Now and then he drops off someone who's gotten hurt while fleeing, none too gently. When he comes across wounded staff, they get a quick ride. But apparently he's done, for now, stopping to talk.

Trevor brings the communicator up to his mouth and is about to respond to Tefe when he feels his phone start to vibrate. Trevor switches hands to look at the text message, and stops when he sees it's from Aaron's mother. He scrolls down, fearing the worst, and suddenly screams in triumph, all thoughts of Tefe's mysterious disappearing opponent and his own exhaustion forgotten. A second later the communicator is back at his lips.

"THEY DID IT! I DON'T KNOW HOW THEY DID IT, BUT THE KIDS ARE GETTING BETTER!"

Trevor's mask is getting wet with tears, but he doesn't even notice as he raises both hands over his head and cheers in the middle of the burned out circle.

*YES!* comes the general broadcast. Then a pause.

*Hey, my ring is just about out. I need to recharge - we close enough to done here that I can get to delivering supplies, clearing up traffic... stuff like that? There's going to be a million things that need doing now, and most of hero-dom is probably exhausted or wounded. That... and I'm not picking up any more human-sized motion in the swamp. Anyone who's still out there knows how to baffle motion detection, UV and IR, so going to need you folks with good old fashioned eyesight to double check my work.*

Ah, so they managed to stop the virus, then, he bitterly thinks to himself. No doubt Mike’s parents will be overjoyed.

Caleb can’t bring himself to match the euphoria that’s undoubtedly going around due to the cure. As far as he’s concerned, this plague was brought about by arrogant ‘heroes’ who decided that when things got complicated that the rules didn’t apply anymore, so finding the cure after tens of thousands of pre-pubescent children have succumb to it is hardly something he would call a win.

Still, best to be silent and let his comrades savor their hollow victory. After all, most of the heroes weren’t culpable – they were just as involuntarily swept up in this whole mess as he was. At least this whole affair wasn't a total loss, though: The majority of the children will recover. Welcome news indeed.
