They had taken up residence in the infirmary to start patching up the wounded and see how many people were missing. Tefe knew that some of the prisoners had escaped into the swamp but they could wait for now. Most of them had no idea what they were in for by escaping into the Louisiana swampland. They'd be happy to be recaptured most likely.
She had caused no few blushes and stares by showing up the way she had. It wasn't her fault she could heal her skin but not her clothes after her encounter with the napalm. Now she was dressed in a long shirt with her bare legs and feet showing from beneath it.
Caleb needed to be sat on and healed but he had to sit still for two seconds first, that would be the hard part. Other than than Tefe wasn't sure who else was around and what they still had to do.
"Hold still." The guard flinched when she touched him where he had a large gash on his face until he realized where she touched there was no more pain. "There, not even a scar. You can go now." Flesh wounds were easy, that's why she always healed them first. Bones were much harder.
Hopefully the others were on their way, Tefe wasn't exactly a take charge of a bad situation kind of gal. At least not in a situation like this, when it came down to fighting she usually took care of herself and then left. Others took care of the aftermath and these people were looking at her like she knew what to do.
And really she didn't.

The jokes are flying a little faster than usual, and have the air of not being well thought-out, unlike Trevor's usual jabs. The simple truth is, he has no idea what the hell Caleb may have done to himself by sucking Hammond's soul, and the blood that has tainted Caleb's last few regurgitations has him scared shit-less.

Date: 2006-11-21 04:52 am (UTC)The blood coming up is just the throwing up and straining blood vessels, she eases the physical symptoms.
It seems like something similar to what happened to Ra's with the pits, corruption of some sort but in Caleb's case it's already fading and will work itself out in a few days.
"I think you'll live. If you get to feeling sick again let me know I can keep you from throwing up your toenails but the rest isn't physical." Ra's cells were altered by the corruption, this is different. Maybe she could cure it, maybe she couldn't but its a lot of energy for something that's going to pass on its own.
"Feel any better?"

He leans forward, only to discover that he’s somewhat more sore than he thought he was. He sighs, and cautiously continues, coming so prop himself up on his hands. Caleb has no idea what’s wrong with him, but it’s fairly obvious that this woman does.
“What’s wrong with me?”

Date: 2006-11-21 05:22 am (UTC)The one in the aura gets set down gently on a bed and Corrine looks the man over with contemplation. She's got enough field medic training to know what the wheeze in his lungs is and that's the first problem. She sets to it, and after some incanting, the man is safe and sleeping.
Corrine's not terribly hurt herself, a couple of cuts and bruises. Then again, it's the norm for her. A few minutes alone and even those won't be a concern, but right now she doesn't much care. She wanders over to a sink and starts vigorously washing her face and some of the grit from her hair.

He walks over to Corrine and gently kisses her forehead, then turns on his comm unit. "Sand to Oracle, Belle Reve is under control. Magique and a few second-string villains managed to escape, but given that she set Hector Hammond loose on us, we consider ourselves lightly. Currently working on triage and securing Belle Reve until the DEO gets here. Awaiting further orders."

Trevor's mask is getting wet with tears, but he doesn't even notice as he raises both hands over his head and cheers in the middle of the burned out circle.

Date: 2006-11-22 09:30 pm (UTC)*Hey, my ring is just about out. I need to recharge - we close enough to done here that I can get to delivering supplies, clearing up traffic... stuff like that? There's going to be a million things that need doing now, and most of hero-dom is probably exhausted or wounded. That... and I'm not picking up any more human-sized motion in the swamp. Anyone who's still out there knows how to baffle motion detection, UV and IR, so going to need you folks with good old fashioned eyesight to double check my work.*

Date: 2006-11-22 11:26 pm (UTC)Caleb can’t bring himself to match the euphoria that’s undoubtedly going around due to the cure. As far as he’s concerned, this plague was brought about by arrogant ‘heroes’ who decided that when things got complicated that the rules didn’t apply anymore, so finding the cure after tens of thousands of pre-pubescent children have succumb to it is hardly something he would call a win.
Still, best to be silent and let his comrades savor their hollow victory. After all, most of the heroes weren’t culpable – they were just as involuntarily swept up in this whole mess as he was. At least this whole affair wasn't a total loss, though: The majority of the children will recover. Welcome news indeed.
