No invasion, but there's pie

The heroes continue to arrive and partake in the Thanksgiving feast, with varying degrees of relief that the "alien invasion" was merely a ruse.

"Oh, kryll." Mar'i steadies Grant. "Sorry, sir. We were gonna take a stroll on the moon, and ... um...."

"It's ok, Mar'i. I can understand being...distracted." He turns to Grant. "How are you? You looked a bit worse for wear in Jersey."

Recovering, leaning a little on Mar'i, Grant finally looks up, the spitcurl and the big yellow shield with the 'S' device registering.

"I...yeah, I was...we were..." Grant looks between Mar'i and Superman then. Calm down already... "I'm better. The shoulder's finally healed. It's...it's good to see you, sir."

"Good to see the both of you too. Well it's obvious you two were headed...somewhere...so I'll let you get going. I want to see if there's any pie left. Take care." Superman takes two steps forward, then pauses. "Oh, by the way, don't forget we have monitoring devices all over the moon, and although given Mar'i's lineage she would care all that much, I think if Grant's face gets any redder he might look like a Korugarian."

He smiles...is that a hint of a mischievous smirk?

"Oh, I wouldn't want to embarass him, sir," Mar'i assures him. "That would hurt his feelings. Besides, he can't survive in space without an EVA suit like I can."

Oh God...Oh God, I hit him...I didn't mean to! It was mind-control...or something. He's not going to kill me is, he? Oh God...

There is a faint trace of panic on Grant's face as he looks at the older hero, swallowing hard. But the panicked look is quickly replaced with some of the awkward embarrassment he'd displayed earlier in the dining hall.

"Ah, we were just...the EVA suit...and..." Pausing for a moment, Grant jerks a thumb over his shoulder, then grins at the Kryptonian. "You better hurry. I think Kid Flash may be heading for that last piece, sir."

"Oh, we can't have that, now. You two...go have fun." A pause. "But not too much."

He then starts heading into the room.
