Thanks to the dynamic duo and the Brucemobile food was purchased and Hospitality has food! Last night, due to jet lag, the twins could manage sandwiches - peanut butter, strawberry jam, orange marmalade, cream cheese, and of course, grilled cheese - swiss and cheddar and some with turkey - since they got a better than average budget for this. Tomato Soup and rice in the crockpot went over pretty well, too, though clean up after that is always a little trying. The volunteers that came in though were great. Note to self: The Flash Fan Club rules. Also, points to the hotel for insisting on their own catering. The one con where that happened, it added to the budget just enough as to just about kill it.

So Saturday morning food... oatmeal in the 2 giant crockpots along with brown sugar, dried apples, raisins, milk, and cinnamon so people can customize it, a stack of plain toast and one of cinnamon toast, butter and jam, deviled eggs (made last night and currently on ice, not that they last long enough to get warm), and they've already put out the celery and carrots for those needing something sensible with breakfast. As the day progresses, Hospitality will have more sandwiches, veggies, fruit, and chips with dips and this evening, the plan is for rice with various mix-ins like butter and mixed veggies.

Oh, and drinks. Iced Earl Grey sun tea, iced mint and chamomile sun tea, Tang (Vitamin C fights con crud), assorted Zesti company sodas (even if Michelle kvetches about it), a decent blend of English breakfast tea that has been brewed, and not just coffee, ladies and gentlemen - SEATTLE coffee.

A sign is up and prominantly displayed near the trash with some rags, and a few spray bottles of Simple Green cleaner. "Be a hero. Bus your own table."
