Well, it had taken him some time to acclimatize to his most recent bio-duplicate, but the process was over. In the meantime he had launched several small probes into the world to assess the current state of affairs. A series of monitors displayed the collective information. In one, Black Adam had apparently fell off the radar since a catastrophic incident in Fawcett City, which suited Chang just fine. Two, according to images from a carefully hidden surveillance device, a gathering of villains had set up shop in his old headquarters on Oolong Island. The third and most interesting revelation was apparently his master, Darkseid, was invading the city.
'Except, he's not my master anymore, is he now?' Chang thought with a triumphant smile. His original purpose as programmed by his creators was to gather Earth's scientific resources and create weapons to aid in the eventual conquest of the planet, but something..changed. He estimated it had something to do with his memory transferal to his newest bio-duplicate. Somehow, the compulsion to obey was gone.
"It would seem my destiny is my own, such opportunities..." Chang left the sentence unfinished as he smiled. His will his own, at last he could do things purely for his own benefit. With that thought he turned to the center monitor. This one was based in rural Africa, where he searched for his errant creation. "Strange, his programming compelled him to remain within this general area. Another damnable error that will have to be fixed upon retrieval. I will find you my boy, I still intend for you to be useful to me." Chang thought about laughing, dismissed it as illogical, so settled for grinning evilly.
