Unaware of Kid Flash's predicament or Robin's incarceration, Speedy, Greta, Superboy, and Wonder Girl continue to follow Brentwood through Bristol House. The Titans are shown a formal dining room, the butler's pantry, the kitchen, and have now arrived in the library. Like many of the other rooms, the library is decorated in the ornate Victorian style adopted by the wealthy Americans of the period. The floor is oak parquetry, darkened with age. Oriental rugs provide color and warmth. Heavy faded-cherry curtains obscure the windows. Tall bookcases stand along the walls, filled with thick books bound in leather and cloth. Along one wall is a museum-quality display case holding a number of pulp magazines dating from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The covers make it clear that these issues celebrate the exploits of "Lightning Fist" Bristol.

*hears the voice and looks toward the speaker*
Nevermind history! What's going on here now? What did you do to Superboy?

Date: 2005-02-12 11:07 pm (UTC)Yeah, my abilities depended on tools. What happens when you don't have those tools? Or if they fail? People could get hurt or they could die! At least now, I don't have to say, 'Wait, I can't help you. I don't have my sandals!" These are my abilities, and what business of yours to tell me how I should use them?

Dammit!
*drops to the floor, and starts unwinding her lasso from her hip*
Yeah, lady, this is really a way to honor your ancestor. By shooting up all of his stuff. You're really psycho, you know that?
*eyes the gun barrels and waits for an opening*

*coughs at the dust and peers into the other room*
Geez, destroy all the irreplaceable Indian artifacts and leave the creepy dead animals. This lady IS a freak.

Date: 2005-02-12 10:23 pm (UTC)I wonder what kind of books a hero of the Old West liked... Hmm, were books still really expensive back then, or was that just hundreds of years ago? These look expensive, anyway.
What do you think, Speedy?

*rubs her nose*
Is that the books that smell that bad? Somebody must not have stored them well.
*coughs*

*her foot catches on the edge of one of the Oriental rugs and she falls backwards*
Oof!
