Last Call at Chaney's

The doors are flung wide open and all of the lights are on.

A familiar form leans up against the bar, a pint glass held loosely in one hand.

Chaney's is open for business for two special reasons tonight -- firstly, to collect funds for rebuilding Metropolis.

But also to give the heroes a chance to relax and unwind, before what's bound to be a tough fight.

And Grace Choi is back to bartend.

"Cash only tonight, ladies and gentlemen. Everything goes to get our town back up and running. So drink up!"

Mia turned and gave him a look. "Hahaha," she said sarcastically, "Pay no attention the crazy man that shoots the arrows Grace," she said. "Mountatin Dew would be great," she looked around for some of her fellow Titans.

Mia rolled her eyes at him. "Okay so there was that one time when I had too many was bouncing off the walls. I promise I won't do it again," she said, giving him the puppy dog eyes that worked on him and Roy ninety-nine percent of the time. She sighed and took a swig of her Mountain Dew. "Okay, but we better get some outside help, we'll need it."

Donna was surprised that no one was checking ids, as she saw some of the younger Titans on the dance floor. She causally made her way to the bar. It had been a long day, one of those days where at the end of it, you really needed a drink. Which was how Donna felt right about now. Stupid love life.

"I don't care what you give me Grace," Donna said to her friend. Normally, Donna only really drank wine, but after the day she had had, she could really use something hard. "As long as it makes me forget the day I'm having."

"Can do, Donna." From behind the bar Grace pulls out a shot glass and a tall bottle full of an amber liquor.

"Scorpion Mezcal. It'll feel nice and smooth goin' down." The full-to-the-brim glass is slid over to Donna.

"I'd sip that though. Once you're done with that, we'll get ya started on something else."

"Thanks Grace," she said, taking a swig of the amber drink that was at the moment solving all of her problems. "Wow," she said, "That's some good stuff, where did you come across this stuff?"

"Can't tell ya that, Donna, or you might not come back." She's now poured herself a shot and is sipping it, closing her eyes at the complex taste.

"'Cuse me darlin', there's more folks comin' in. Just let the other bartender know what ya want. And..." Grace pulls over another jar starting to fill with bills.

"Don't forget to donate."

Beetle is there in costume, in person for a change - the robotic surrogate is good for a lot of things, but not for socializing.

"Just orange juice for me, I'm driving a twenty ton flying insect."

"Does that mean you can park wherever you want?" asks Dinah Lance, coming up behind him. "Dare ya to steal Spooky Ears' spot."

"I'm certainly not gonna stop him from parking where he wants." A glass of fresh squeezed orange juice is handed over to Ted, followed by Grace pointing a finger at a jar placed close at hand.

"Don't forget to pay up, Beetle." She's grinning as she says this.

"Batman has a reserved spot here? He must be loosening up. I wonder if he keeps a micro-tube of martini olives in his utility belt in case he has to be prepared for a cocktail party.."

He nods, grinning, to Grace.

There is a back table, which has two occupants at it. Both of which will be surpising to many of those just entered for a number of reasons.

Still, Shiva likes it here for some reason. She finds the most interesting people here.

And Grace is fun.

Dragon sips at a tall glass of whiskey, listening to the conversations going on.

"As near as I can tell, this party's both a charity event for rebuilding Metropolis, and some kind of pre-mission get-together for the hero types. Something big going down."

Shiva has a glass of the same in her hands but she doesn't seem too impressed. There always seems to be something going on.

His eyes dart from patron to patron - reading lips and listening to comments.

"Apparently, they're going out hunting for some kid from the future. Supposedly, he's a pretty fair fighter."

Dragon's days as a spy had their dividends.

Rick Tyler ushers in a few of random JSA members, waving them all in.

"Okay this one was taught to me by a great man. An honorable man. And...go figure...its called "Hour of Power" " He's waving around. "To Rex Tyler, ladies and gents. With this, you and everyone else in, takes a shot of beer every minute for an hour. Now...who's up to bat?"

He rubs his hands, waving in others to partake in the tray full of Guinness beer in front of the group.

"I resemble that remark," Nightwing says, as he takes a seat at the bar and orders a Zesti. "But no thanks. I'm not really a drinker." Roy, on the other hand...

Jesse's suddenly next to him, leaning up against the bar. She raises a hand and signals a harried looking bartender.

"Pint of your best porter, please. Nightwing, you really should relax a little more."

He turns his head to her, a deviant smirk spreading across his rakish features. "Oh, like the last time I relaxed around you, you mean?"

He glances back at Nightwing, resting a hand on his shoulder as he takes down his first shot. "AAAAHHH, -hic- Suit yourself sir. We've got something big on the horizon. If everybody's on the front line tomorrow, I'll be happy to have us in the first twelve rounds tonight."

Rick waits for a reply, and keeps one of his eyes trained on the clock.

He chuckles, shaking his head. "I'm more of a casual observer," he replies, before taking a sip from his glass. "Someone's got to remind you all what you got up to tonight if we make it through this."

There's a fella at the end of the bar with the widest grin in the joint saved just for the lady tending it, although she'd likely be the last person to call herself a lady.

Flamebird slides onto a stool at the bar next to Plaz while Grace is a little ways further down the bar. So far she's mostly managed to hang back, which is fine with her for the moment. With the mask on, she's much less of an attention seeker than she is usually.

He keeps the grin going for grace, but a second head pops out of his back to talk to Flamebird.

"Hey, sweet cheeks! Did I tell you the airbrushing wasn't necessary?"
