JLA Meeting

The call has gone out to all members of the League, active and reserve, and those on the Watchtower are already filing into the meeting room. There will be those who cannot attend but there should be as many people here as possible.

Things have been stagnant since the Tribunal last year, the League is ever more reactionary and less proactive. Dr. Light and Slade are running their own organizations and how has it come so far that the other side is organized and the League is drifting?

It doesn't matter, today they will brief the League on what has happened and they will move on. It's time to finish the healing begun a year ago.

Since most everyone has arrived it is time to start. She has taken the central role in meetings before but it always seems more natural for Kal to have that role.

"Thank you all for assembling under such short notice. As most of you know Dr. Light and his allies attacked S.T.A.R. labs New Orleans research facility. Captain Nazi and D-Bomb were captured but Dr. Light and the rest of his allies escaped along with the items they came for." She pauses to let the fact that while they did capture a couple of the lower players on Light's team this wasn't even close to a victory. "Dr.Light had this planned out well, leaving us scrambling to keep the reactor from melting down while he and the rest of his team were free to escape."

"We have been too reactionary since the Tribunal, for longer than that really, we need to start acting more like a team and a family and less as strangers thrown together not knowing which way to go." She still hasn't sat down, finding standing more comfortable for this.

"It's time to find out where we all stand, see who will be active and who will be reserve as well as fill the holes in our roster."

"At this point I would like to open the floor for discussion."

"Reservist," Plaz says, immediately. "Sorry, folks - I can help out in a jam, but I'm up to my nutzens with personal crap at the moment, and I can't stand on Nathan Jessep's wall 24-7."

"I'd like to move up to Active. I've been sidelined so long I'm going stir crazy."

Ray takes a deep breath before speaking.

"With the revelations about Jean somehow being the Enchantress -- willingly or not -- I'm afraid I'll be stepping down to inactive as soon as she's apprehended."

He rubs his temples for a second.

"I need to devote myself to making sure she gets the care she need. I can't do that up here. Since the Science Advisor job's hard to fill, I'll consult with the team about filling the slot at a later date."

There is concern for the Atom - he's dealt with Shayera's body being possessed by a villain, as she has dealt with his own possession. It's not an enviable position.

"I plan to serve as an active member. I have much to learn, and much to atone for."

He will not speak for Shayera. This has to be her own decision.

"I'm active, of course." Superman said. "I may need some time back from general alerts once the baby is born, but I'll be there if needed."

"In any capacity I'm needed - at any time I'm needed." His voice is level, and 100% truthful. "I've...been thinking about this since the Tribunal and the Plague. Father and Roy are busy with their own lives. Mia is outstanding, but still not strong enough to be on her own."

"I can offer my bow, my hands, and a level head. If the League needs that, count me in."

Mari's been listening quietly for awhile, seeing who's been dropping their names in, and who hasn't.

After thinking for a moment, she decides to speak up.

"I know I haven't been the League's most active member lately, especially since the group based in Detroit disbanded, but I'd like to change that." She pauses for a moment, silent, and then says, "If not as an active member, then at least as one of the first reserves to be called in case any back up is needed."

"Active." Ralph says simply. He appears as if about to say more, then decides this isn't the time yet, and leaves it at that.

"I, too, would like to go to active status." Todd's a little nervous being around all of these people--it's been ages since he was really part of the League.

"Reservist," Jesse mumrmurs. The Titans, the JSA and her own work with QuickStart disallow anything more...and besides, they have the Flash.

Arms folded and leaning against a wall far in the back of the room, a red headed Lantern pipes up.
"Reservist. The Corps is busy these days."

Reservist. Deathstroke and his goons hit Titans Tower hard recently, and I plan to be around for a potential followup.

There's a look from Sue, evaluating Ray. granted, her own viens seem to feel like ice water at the moment.

He catches the look -- even distraught, he doesn't miss much -- but he refuses to look her in the eye.

Instead, he retreats behind a stoic glower, trying to hold it together.

But it's obvious he's falling apart inside.

Zauriel's smile fades to a contemplative expression as he considers his own position in the League. Today he has one more reason to be concerned with the overall safety of the world. And, in truth, he enjoys working as part of a team more than as a solo act.

"Active, if there is a need for me." He offers Katar and Shayera an oddly shy smile. "Let's hope no one here is allergic to feathers."

John looks to Diana. They've discussed this.

He's not standing next to her, so as not to draw focus from the meeting's goals with silly Watchtower scuttlebutt.

"With Hal active, I'm happy to be on call as a reserve."
