It was really windy that evening - and for a change, it wasn't her fault.

This was the second time Maxine had been in Londonderry for Christmas Eve...she had come years ago when she had been the gawky redhead in 5th grade.   Now she was the gawky redhead that was also a member of the oldest, most revered team of superheroes EVER...the Justice Society of America.

And yet she was here for the same reason many people do things like this - because she loved her grammy.

This had been an annual tradition for Grammy Hunkel for many years, even before she discovered that she could come out of hiding a couple years ago...that she could finally be a part of the Justice Society - as the museum's curator.   She wasn't just that, though - she was EVERYONE's grammy.  Court, Kendra, even Power Girl...all of them loved and revered her simply for just being her.

And it was the easiest thing to do in the world.

She was waiting inside, waiting for Ma to make her grand entrance, as she did every year.  They went all out this year...the theme was Rankin-Bass Rudolph, complete with a very large replica of the Abominable Snowman from the classic cartoon that the store manager said had arrived only that day.

She loved that special...especially with Yukon Cornelius.  She identified with him a lot.

Hugh Dawkins was trying to follow a scent. Trying to pick up some vestige of Dinah. Oracle apparently could predict where she was jumping around in the complex, but it was good to have more than one person tracing her, and in a different way.

Unfortunately, she hadn't been let out of her cell, apparently - leaving nothing to track her by. No deoderant, no sweat, no chemicals she carries with her.

More to his dismay, he was trying to keep track of altogether too many scents. Too many moving scents. Too many good guys and bad guys to trace, to know where they are or where they're going. Hugh has to start dropping a few of them from tracking if he wants to be able to pay attention to any single one well enough.

Some new scent hits him, though - not too potent, but it's enough. He can't quite identify it, but he does know it's from a person.

A few more sniffs...and Hugh is following it, locked on.

Hal's voice comes over the coms of all his allies on the island.

"I've got Canary's location, all entrances, and their defenses. Rendezvous just under where I'm hovering now, and I'll lead the way."

Hal's bright green light is difficult to miss, allowing the heroes to know just where to meet him.
