The Cyborg Superman had been flying through the galaxy for weeks, occasionally catching a hyperbeam to a local planet or hitching a ride on a rocket to a moon, but ultimately he had one destination in mind. That destination would be Rann.

Many years ago, Hank Henshaw had made a plan with Mongul. That plan involved Coast City becoming the pilot seat of a new Warworld, with the two of them at the helm. Alas, the plan did not come to fruition and despite Coast City's destruction, nothing came of it. That's not to say there wasn't a Plan B however, and upon exercising his strength and intelligence down in Fawcett City to check how foolproof the heroes of Earth truly were, he decided that it was far too much of a trial to attempt to make Earth his Warworld.

Without Mongul's aid, Plan B had to be shared with some new intergalactic menaces. Specifically, Despero and a rebel faction of Psions. They had all come to an agreement; Rann would be the new Warworld, and with it they would be able to dominate a large portion of the galaxy. With the help of Dr. Sivana and the technology behind Chemo, Henshaw now had the science needed to take control over the planet, but an invasion would be required first.

Arriving at a heavily wooded and uninhabited portion of Rann, the Cyborg removed his cloaking device and entered the underground tunnel that led to the work he had been doing for these past years, after Despero had taken his consciousness from Oa. Henshaw stood before his war-machine, the device designed to produce a robotic army of Chemo-like soldiers to take on Rann's defences.

Hank grins, and feels the clap of Despero's hand on his shoulder. It's always useful to have allies, whether they be runt humans like Sivana or the beast from Kalanor himself. Someone should always be there to take the fall if it all goes wrong. "Are we ready?"

Chemo switches on. "GG56I." It's been a while since it was last active. After the chess match with Calculator, it was as if the increased sentience had put Noah off releasing the walking vat again. But this time, it's in full-sized mode, as the Society require a distraction from the rather overt assassination earlier today, and as far as distractions go, the giant, green, glowing container, is a massive one. "88L." Stepping from a hangar, long disused, in an area that during the war was an airstrip, but is now a part of the burgeoning downtown, Chemo stands to full height, towering above the houses and shops.

People start screaming. People start running. It has orders. There's a prison down the road, and Calculator has ordered Chemo to dissolve one wall, and cause some chaos. Chemo begins to stride down the street, smashing cars, and smashing anyone unfortunate enough to be in the way. It's like King Kong, but toxic, and totally emotionless. When Chemo gets to the end of the street, it turns. That way. But then it stops. It turns another way. That way. It stops again.

"Prison secondary. Metropolis primary. New directive. Break Superman." Chemo starts going back the way it came, and straight towards the busy area of downtown.

The Calculator sits at a small table, on which rests a chessboard, with a game in progress. There's a large, clear plastic barrier stretching over the table, with a hole in it to permit both players to reach any spot on the chessboard.

"I'm really quite impressed. Obviously, you're not playing the game on my level, but you've picked up a surprising amount of skill, considering.."

Across the table sits Noah's unusual opponent - a relatively human-sized and human-shaped clear container of green, toxic fluids.

"King's Bishop takes Pawn. Your move."

The images of Infinity Inc's battle with Society members Dr. Phosphorus and Chemo are being played out over Metropolis airwaves constantly.

Lex Luthor, project founder is staying in wireless communication with the ground troops, helping out civilians, and containment teams to take care of the area. With a surprising amount of stress and work, Luthor gives an "eye in the sky" look to the situation.

"Come on, dammit...lives are at stake here! Contain Chemo, first and foremost...I don't want a drop of that thing getting out into my city!"

Killing two birds with one stone. There was little that Noah admired more than efficiency. Luthor had wanted a test for his little group of upstarts, and if Noah could gather a little information on this 'Miracleman' in the meantime - so much the better.

A custom-designed computer sits at his fingertips - a remote control system attached to one of the deadliest weapons in the world.

"Dr. Phosphorus, Faust is ready to transport you and your smokescreen. The Metropolis Marvel is dealing with a major volcanic eruption in the Pacific Rim. Are you ready to break the bank?"

When the idea came up for a couple's night out, Sand knew exactly where to take them, especially when Tara said she's ready to eat at "any old diner".

Jerry Lee's, the place in Metropolis that Sand and Corrine discovered, sounded absolutely perfect.

It was as Sand remembered it - only far more festive.  It's Christmastime, you know.

The restaurant area had a new focal point - a 10 foot tree decked out EXACTLY as it would have been in the 50's, with old-school big fat lights and everything.  To the left, the canteen/dance hall area had several dancers decked out in their holiday finest, with a lead singer doing a dead ringer impersonation of Ella Fitzgerald singing "Sleigh Ride".

He and Corrine had a great time here the last time they visited - he had hoped Travis and Tara would as well.
