Dr. Kala Avasti stood in her lab, looking over the deactivated Amazo unit. She had the programming on a datachip on her desk, and afters he had analyzed it, she thinks she is ready to attempt to figure out how the antennae on the ears absorb power from heroes. She removed the face-plate, and then the ears came off easily. She was about to begin removing solder to disect the technology when she felt a blast rock the building, and the alarm sounded. "Oh, god." She said, as the labs began sealing themselves off.

Jaime flew over Metropolis, trying to cleanse the image of hell from his mind. "Dios ..." He muttered to himself, shaking his head. Then some text scrolled across his HUD.  "Security Breach, Sector 15, S.T.A.R. Labs." Jaime banked to the left, flying for the labratories. "Breach into the security system, let's see what we're up against." He said, and the suit began to try and hack the most sophistacted system in the world. It did it in 10 seconds.

After leaving the LexCorp building with Grace, and agreeing to meet up with the other members of Infinity Inc at the designated area of downtown, Kara decided that she'd have another quick fly around, to see if she recognised any familiar structures. It was strange. Metropolis was clearly changed, and she was trying to work out in what way when she realised that a lot of the things were just modifications on old designs. The cars were quicker and quieter, the building interiors plusher and the computers more advanced. Even the little things like the suits men and women were wearing; the collars were smaller, the trousers tighter, shoulderpads practically non-existant. All fascinating, in their own way. What could cause such tiny changes in this world?

Flying to downtown as agreed, she got to work almost immediately. The being known as Chemo wasn't completely foreign to her; she remembered one from her world, which was equally as destructive. She surveyed the devastation it had caused, and with a resolute look, began to use both her superspeed, strength, and invulnerability to clear away a lot of the toxic soup that remained in the area. She shored up buildings, and in the blink of an eye was disintegrating ruined furniture and half-melted cars with her heat vision. All thisdetritus was no use to anyone who might want to live here once the cleaning had been completed.

Some of the toxic waste made even her feel ill. As Infinity Inc hadn't shown up yet, she would let them deal with that, providing they had the equipment to do so. But within half an hour, a great deal of the outward damage in downtown was already healed. As Infinity Inc started to roll in, Supergirl flew down to the middle of the road to greet them with a smile. "I've done some of the work, but this'll need to be a team effort. I should probably introduce myself, as the only one I've met is Grace. My name is Supergirl, and I'm really hoping that together we can clean up the destruction that seems to have hit Metropolis."

It was a somber morning. The city has been rocked, torn, and almost leveled with the events of the recent past. However, an impromptu stage has been erected, and citizens of Metropolis brought forward.

Lexcorp employees usher forth their neighbors to the park, setting up booths, and counseling areas. It was time. It was a time to heal, and a time to listen. Because there was one who had words for it.

Luthor stood behind the stage, before speaking to his personal security, asking them to remain behind. "I'm not afraid of them." He noted, before stepping out in front of the podium. Camera crews from the Daily Planet, GBS and various other outlets turned their focus to him as he began.

Metropolis has always had its share of heroes. From Superman to the Newsboy Legion, the Guardian, the city could consider itself well-protected.

As of recently, more were even added to the melting pot. Infinity Incorporated, Lexcorp's publicly sponsored entity have taken up residence in the city. Between handling operations that may take them from city limits, the team members are also expected to handle minor problems internally.

This, would be one of them.

"Let me get this straight. You can control emotions using your lights. Aaaand, when you flash a certain one, you can cause fear, or anger, or sadness."

The spoken to subject just nods.

"So, instead of, I don't know, using it to help people...you wanted to rob a food court. I say again. A.FOOD.COURT."

Another nod. This one more nervous.

The speaker, Infinity Inc's Miracleman regards this for a few moments, keeping the captured Doctor Spectro at arm's length and high above the Siegel Centre mall. Miracleman has his hands around the back of Spectro's neck, and starts to do some calculations. "You know...I'm not going to drop you. I just wanted to get us up here to get some thinking time, and wonder about how long you'd be going away for IF you pulled it off."

Spectro grabs hold of his arm, trying to do something, anything to keep from going airborne to the crowded streets below.

"Okay, Doc...lets get you out of here. I don't even feel like doing the paperwork to have you booked. So if you promise that you'll stop trying to steal things, and primarily never wear that costume again...you can get home in time to watch the game. Deal?"

A warm summer day in Metropolis isn't a surprise. Its a blessing. Especially when its enjoyed by the (second, but rising) most powerful man in Metropolis.

As such, there are plenty of plainclothes security in the area for an event like this. Some are easily spotted, and others incognito. But its not for a speech, nor a dedication. Its for an afternoon on the playground for Lex and Lena Luthor.

The elder sits back on a bench, watching his daughter play amongst her newest batch of friends. At the age of five, she makes them easily enough. Lex keeps his observation on them, however. When you're a Luthor, you're a target.

The images of Infinity Inc's battle with Society members Dr. Phosphorus and Chemo are being played out over Metropolis airwaves constantly.

Lex Luthor, project founder is staying in wireless communication with the ground troops, helping out civilians, and containment teams to take care of the area. With a surprising amount of stress and work, Luthor gives an "eye in the sky" look to the situation.

"Come on, dammit...lives are at stake here! Contain Chemo, first and foremost...I don't want a drop of that thing getting out into my city!"

A 9:00 AM start time opened the day for Lexcorp's summit meeting. Its Chairman, Lex Luthor himself addressed the media, and the shareholders with its 2008-09 directive.

"And so, ladies and gentlemen, Lexcorp associates, and distinguished guests It is with extreme pleasure, and pride, that I give to you the 2008-09 company focus. "Infinite Initiative".

"What Lexcorp strives for, above all is the growth, and the acceleration of the human race. As a people, we have seen the future. Metropolis itself is a living testament to what things are to come. This city, amazes me. Its people amaze me. And to think that I'm a part of its golden age humbles me. I am proud to be a citizen once again.

And with that, I offer my gift...to the future, and the security of not only Metropolis, but this world in itself. )
